It was probably part of one of their flawed personalities, if not both. Carolina wasn't exactly looking to start shit either, but there was just something about Tex that made her twitch, pressed all her buttons at once. She could think of a few reasons as to why, at least, and the fact that this was probably the most bizarre family reunion to ever exist was probably at the top.

"Fortunately, no. They're separate." And she intended to keep it that way. She had no plans to even let Epsilon so much as talk to Wash, not with everything that had happened. It was safer for the both of them that way.

She answered, not seeing much point in not being completely honest about everything she'd heard about the place thus far. Tex may not have been one of her favourite people, but telling her to go to hell and get answers from someone else was just asking for conflict. Which, she was trying to avoid. Even if the easier way of doing that was probably to have turned around and walked the other way the moment she'd seen the familiar black armour.
