[She’s in luck; not only does Rip not know anything about any such temporal disasters, he’s also not likely to blame Wonderland and all that it is on something so--limited as the destruction of a single ship.

It takes him a moment to realize that she doesn’t identify it because she doesn’t know the word. From a certain perspective he’s used to it: those of the past of course don’t necessarily know what to call future technology. But the way she speaks, calling the parts “components,” the confidence of being able to fix it? That doesn’t speak to someone who has no clue about technology.]


A microwave oven. A device designed for the quick reheating of food, popular starting around—oh, the mid-to-late 20th century or so.

[What is far more interesting in Rip’s eyes is the piece of equipment she holds up next. The look of it alone screams futuristic, even by his standards. He takes a step closer, half-tempted to simply take the thing to better examine it. Luckily, he’s a bit more polite than that.]
