--but a curtain falls over his good mood, dampening it. He'd been looking for more books on a whim when the soft sobs of a woman reach his ears. He stumbles upon the woman by accident, having been lost in a world of his own, and halts midstep not ten feet away. He knows he ought to leave her to her business, but she looks too much like a childhood friend of his for him to feel right about turning a blind eye.
