Jason Scott | Power Rangers (2017)
[For as long as Jason could remember, there'd been someone around to tell him what comes next. There was always some kind of structure. when it was sports, there was a coach. There were practices. There was a schedule full of school and structure and homework. When it was the Rangers, there was training. There was danger and threats and survival. The goals were clear. In Wonderland, it's not like that at all. Nobody seems to know what to do or how to fix it. They're not prepping for a battle. They're just trying to stay alive long enough to get home. Jason figures he can at least help with that last part.
That's what keeps him training. He gets up just before the sun for weight training in the gym, hoping that it's early enough that nobody will have too many questions about why there's a teenager benchpressing several tons. (Though he is curious about how easy it was to find ten-ton barbells already lying around the space) By mid-morning, he'll be at the beach, with cones set up for agility drills. There's no immediate emergency, but that doesn't mean there won't be soon.
After a morning full of training, he'll settle into the kitchen, where he'll set to eating absolutely everything. Superhuman exertion combined with a normal teenager's metabolism means that no snack is safe.]

So I spend my whole life dreaming about getting out of a small town only to move into a place that's even smaller. I'm pretty sure that's irony.
Talk to me about where you're from. Is it small like this? Are the city people adjusting well enough?
{ event wildcard }
[ Okay so I didn't actually have an idea for this one, but all the cool actiony stuff happens in events. Do you guys want a power ranger? I can give you a power ranger. Sticking up for the people who can't defend themselves, playing in whatever retro event you like. COME AT ME. ]
i do what i want
The point is thus:
Jason Scott returns to his room to find one Kimberly Hart, sitting cross-legged on his bed and looking seriously NOT PLEASED with her current situation. How long has she been waiting there? Unclear, but she was obviously not there when he left.
She was not in Wonderland when he left.
But now she is, and she has one very simple question for him:]
What. The hell.
I love your instincts
... Kimberly?
[Is this an event? It seems like it's too soon for there to be another event already.]
no subject
That being said, however, Kimberly did not just show up in his room. She just happens to be here, and more to the point be very confused.]
Did I miss the canyon or something and jump down a rabbit hole instead? Are we actually in Wonderland?
no subject
Near as I can figure -- seems that way. [And he wishes he could say that "we're in Wonderland" is the weirdest conversation he's ever had with Kimberly Hart.] I've been here for a couple of weeks. When did you...? did you just--?
[Why are you in his room though??]
no subject
No.]
Get here? Yeah. I arrived maybe a couple of hours ago?
no subject
Welcome to being stuck here, I guess.
[He sinks down on the opposite edge of the bed, setting his untouched food on the nightstand beside him.] I've tried everything I can think of to get in touch with Zordon for answers.
[Admittedly, that wasn't very much. He's very much not the idea man.]
no subject
She shifts to face him more with a small sigh.]
How many of us are here? Is it just us?
no subject
It was just me until a couple of hours ago when you got here. Most of the people here haven't even heard of Angel Grove. [There were a couple of odd moments where he'd received some odd stares after he'd introduced himself and mentioned his hometown, but he's mostly assumed that they came from some varsity towns he'd had a hand in trampling.]
no subject
[She can't imagine how an alien show down wouldn't have made the news ... everywhere.]
Do you think the others will come here too?
(no subject)
(no subject)
no subject
So, um. Why are we doing this? There's no Zeo crystal here, is there?
no subject
He's crouched opposite Billy then, keeping an eye on his budding footwork and correcting the most egregious of mistakes. Billy's not one for natural talent, but that's something that can be remedied in time.]
Nope. But people keep talking about how dangerous this place can get. If we stay ready, we'll be able to help everyone when things get hard.
no subject
But the Zords aren't here. We can't-- Can we even connect to the morphing grid here?
no subject
[It's something he's considered. That's just more reason to train.]
no subject
[ He starts moving again, lifting his feet higher, ducking and weaving faster. Jason's right, he's got to be ready. ]
no subject
[He's got so much heart it makes up for everything else.]

no subject
See, man? I told you that you had it in you. You can do anything you put your mind to. And I've never met anyone with a bigger mind than yours.
(no subject)
video
Kinda like this place.
[ He gives a little wave. ]
Hi, I'm Henry, by the way.
video
[Okay, that's really weird, but Jason's trying to be better about not making people feel off about their differences.]
I'm Jason. It's nice to meet you.
video
[ Said all chipper like, as if he's totally used to meeting random people all the time. ]
I wouldn't say I love it here or that it super reminds me of home, but...the magic is about the same and...weird things happen just about as often. So actually, maybe...yeah.
[ That's said a little more sheepishly. ]
But I can try to help if you have any questions. I've been here a couple of years now.
video
video
[ Not awesome is Wonderland itself and how many times it tries to kill them all per month but. Whatever. ]
Re: video
[ Well that's not at all ominous. ]
When you say "price", I'm guessing that you aren't talking about getting a summer job to pay Wonderland back for the free room.
video
[ Henry pauses, not really wanting to come across as being an alarmist, but... ]
This place throws stuff at us every few weeks. It likes to try and kill us, and people die, but people also don't stay dead. I'm sorry, I know it's kind of a lot, and maybe you already know most of this.
