[This is. No. This is getting way, way too stupid. And considering the level of stupid his life usually is, that's saying something. But he's alone for the first time in quite a while and despite his internal hatred of it, it's wearing on him. He goes to launch into another rant, and then realizes...

[He gives the most languid shrug he possibly can.] don't ask me. wondering that myself half the time.

[He snorts.]

i'm like thirty or something. but yeah, this is wonderland. familiar with it?

[Honestly, he doesn't care about Sans' age, or at this point even that he's talking to a skeleton. He's not gonna start a fight where there isn't one, and if Magnus isn't gonna be here and charge into danger, or Merle isn't going to do something objectively idiotic to get himself maimed, then he's fuckin' good over here, damnit.

But his life is still potentially in danger, and that would be super bad, so time to get some questions answered.]

The better question is are you. Because I'm pretty sure I razed 'Wonderland' a few hours ago and had, like, a ton more people than I do now. And frankly, if there's two of these places, I'm done as hell.

yeah, i'm thinking this is a different wonderland. we haven't had much in the way of "razing" in awhile now.

[He finally just wades through the mess, heading for the ketchup.]

you familiar with the idea of pocket dimensions? this is one of those. totally isolated from the rest of the universe and on its own time scale. eh, i guess if you did destroy wonderland a few hours ago, it could've been a few years ago from our end. anything's possible.

[That'd be wise, because he has no intention on cleaning any of it up. Thankfully, he knows plenty about pocket dimensions, but usually they have to be sustained by some kind of spellcaster. Not just... existing.]

So what, we're all just kidnapees in a fancy house? What's the point of that? Like, look, I know I'm a valuable asset here, but there's like, a lot of people in this place. They've got to want something.

[Seriously, like he knows why he was taken and not Merle and Magnus if they had to pick one, but if they thought he was the one least likely to do property damage, they are already super wrong.]

[He shrugs.]

yeah, i mean, that's a fair assessment. but there's not really a "they" in charge, as far as any of us know. it's just--wonderland. wonderland does what it does and wants what it wants. what it seems to want is memories.

[He pauses.]

well, guess that sounds pretty ominous. but i've been here over a year now, and the worst i've forgotten is...like two or three words. that's all.

[He squints a bit as Sans explains, or at least clarifies, the situation. But that doesn't... that doesn't make sense. You can't just get kidnapped across planes. He'd be able to sense it, there'd be some sort of shift!!! Ugh!!!!

Without actually responding, he digs around in his robe for his Stone Of Far Speech, holding it up to his mouth.]

Hey, anybody hear this? Anyone. I'll even take Angus right now.

[... Nothing. He shakes it a little.]

Kravitz??? Come on man you can go through planes, don't-- aauuuughhhhhhhhhh.

[He just puts the stone away. Fuck it. Just. Fucking. DAMNIT. He finally re-addresses Sans, because now he's decided he's not done with the other man yet.]

So, just statistically speaking, what're the chances of this place, uh, getting cracked wide open by an interdimensional being? Ever happened before?

[Sans just casually chugs a bottle of ketchup and watches the pointy-eared dude try to talk to a rock. Stranger things have happened. Maybe rocks are cell phones in this guy's world.]

approximately zero? people have tried. even really, really powerful people. no one's ever been able to come or go intentionally.

[Congratulations, you made the right Fantasy Item Guess, you get... absolutely nothing, because Taako sure as hell isn't going to give you anything. Like, fuck it, that's his stuff.]

[It's fine. This is fine. He's not under attack, nobody's dying horribly (most likely), it's... it's chill. He can chill. He's the master of chill.]

... You said this place has it's own time scale or whatever? Like one of those, uh, time doesn't pass right things?

yeah. it's all self-contained. when we leave, we go back to the moment we left. and we don't remember this place at all.

[And since you're an NPC, Sans, he just turns and goes to leave. The kitchen's still a disaster zone. He's not cleaning it.]
