To be fair, I'm not sure that our being here is any different than being in our own home worlds in that relation. I'm not really familiar with the mysticism of either this culture or that of the one in my own galaxy, but they exist.

[She frowns in thought.]

Although, I suppose that's a little circular, logically speaking. If it's a barrier, what is it keeping out? Spirits? I've yet to see one and I'm not sure they are real. Until that changes, I'll have to believe that this is more of an instance of cultural mysticism than actual defense against something.

[She gives the woman a slight but meaningful smile. It's nice to see another woman of some thought walking down these corridors with her. Even if they've been strangers until now.]

I believe that you and I share the same way of thinking, but I'm not sure that my guard captain would agree with either of us. I think I've caused him more trouble than I care to recall with my headstrong beliefs. He'd be cautioning me to stay in my rooms and let him survey the land.

Peter slides a hand behind his neck as he feels his own face flush. The music's loud, but he's fully capable of hearing her over top of it with all those super senses in gear. He could pretend he didn't hear her except he's no good at pretending when his face feels slightly so warm.

He clears his throat as his gaze darts up to meet hers.

Her eyes are very green. A smile tugs across his face as he offers (only slightly stumbling):

"If it's not a crime, then maybe we just leave it a mystery y'know- which one I'm doing."

( the last year's been a whirlwind in the worst way.

a mess of who the hell are you? and why does it matter so much? and maybe she didn't want to figure out who she is, because she's afraid she'll hate that person. she made herself sick with it, and she tried to be strong and do what was right and not-give-up, because that's what everyone says is important too.

she still can't think for herself.

eva could never anticipate the short drop into some fantasy world. it's stranger than twin peaks. finding out noora was already in wonderland, it gave eva the strength to deal. sort of. ever since that night at the theater kids' party, noora's helped give her strength. it's looking like she can maybe do the same for noora now. she walks up beside her friend, nudging her gently. )

[ It's been so long since she's been met with an 'oh, is it the brains?' comment, that now she has to explain, and there's also a mess, so what if she just distracts by kneeling to pick up her soggy book, not worrying at all about her clothes or shoes. ]

He smiles, equally awkwardly, holding his posture in a peculiar way that matches the slightly off-kilter expression, and presses his lips together a couple of times before he speaks again.]

[ Liv kneels down to pick up the book, then really looks at who she ran into. Pale skin. Red rimmed eyes. Is it possible she's not alone here? Sure, she doesn't know him, but someone else like her would still be great. Although, how to ask without outing herself if he's not a zombie? ]

Good. I'd hate for my first incident here to be maiming someone via collision.

[ She presses her lips together, swallowing and looking at him. Heartbeat. She can tell by his heartbeat. Or, well, lack thereof. Sticking out her hand, she smiles a little. ]

[Justine loves Thomas. It goes unsaid but she feels it twisting beneath her breastbone fueling her worry and pain. He can't not feed and while it isn't a perfect solution she knows that it'll help him. If she can make it so her touch doesn't burn him, he can feed on her. She trusts him and knows him. He won't take too much. What he is doing now will only make it harder for him.

She dislikes going behind Thomas's back but if it's for his sake, for his health, she'll try. Justine knows that she can lure him in. She knows Thomas just as well as she knows herself.

Her lips part but before she's able to speak she feels his hand pressing against her back. They were both fools.]
