[ Bonnie looks happy enough to see her sit down and relax. She's interested to hear all about herself from before, and interested to know who this woman really is. Obviously they were close, considering Freya cared enough to take in Bonnie's pet when she left. ]

I got the impression my magic gets stronger over time. I'd like to do that again here. Get better at it. [ She needs to, to protect her friends if nothing else. It's a part of her, a part that Bonnie never wants to lose again. ] How long have you known you're a witch?

[She laughs a bit at the question, not because it's a bad one but because it's far longer than some people might realize, and she learned in one of the more difficult ways.]

Since I was five years-old.

Since you were five. [ Bonnie slouches back in her chair, obviously surprised and impressed. To grow up knowing what she was, what her mother had been, what her grandmother had been... She can't imagine how it would have changed her life. ] My grams didn't tell me until I was older. I kind of thought she was crazy, though. But she taught me a lot.

[She tips her head to the side for a moment before she explains.]

The first born witches in my family line are granted a great deal of power. It manifests young and is ... hard to ignore.

Really? [ Bonnie had so many questions to ask. To finally know another witch - one that wasn't going to run off or betray her - after feeling so lonely when she lost Grams exhilarated her. Especially one so powerful, one she could learn from. ] What's so special about your family?

[She gives a small shrug. She's not really sure where it came from, just that it was.]

We have a very powerful line, similar to the way your family does. The magic in it goes back generations, and it was unbroken until my mother turned my siblings into vampires.

Your mom did what? [ That's enough to give Bonnie pause. She knows she made her own choices, that other witches did too, for good reasons or not. But what Bonnie did, helping vampires, she did for Elena. She could justify it that way.

This, though? She couldn't wrap her mind around it. ] Why?

[Her head tips to the side for a moment, confused, because she thought she knew that. But at the same time, maybe not.]

To protect them, of course. She didn't know what they would become as a result of the immortality spell.

[A pause.]

They didn't have a precedent for it. My siblings were the first vampires.

Your siblings... Were Originals?

[ Soooooooo much makes sense now. Welp. ]

Wait, why didn't your mom make you into a vampire, too?

Because I wasn't there. I was taken from her by my maternal aunt when I was five.

[It took her a thousand years to find her siblings again, but she did. And it was worth every minute.]

Hold on. If your family are the Originals, but you're a witch... You are mortal, right?

[ Bonnie has so many questions, one of them being how she managed to befriend someone even related to the Originals after what happened with Elena at home. When Bonnie left, she was trying to kill Klaus and now... She's sitting here with his sister.

It's difficult to understand. ]

Or is you being in Wonderland part of that time-travel thing, like how I'm from a different place than all my friends?

It's ... complicated.

[But she's going to try and explain it.]

When my aunt learned that my mother had given her children immortality, she refused to be outdone, so she cast an immortality spell on herself - one that would allow her to keep her magic. She would sleep for a hundred years, and then awaken for one year of life.

Since I was bound to her at the time, I was cursed with the same fate. But I am mortal now. Once Dahlia was killed, the spell was lifted on me.

Oh, wow. That's... nuts.

[ Bonnie appreciates her explaining it. Freya doesn't owe her any explanations, especially considering the point of time she comes from. It seemed like a huge loophole, an abuse of power... Bonnie doubted Grams would approve. ]

That must have been terrible for you, only getting to actually live for a year at a time. So much must have changed every time you woke up.

[She nods in agreement.]

I learned to make friends with vampires, or witches who were fond of longevity spells. It made it easier to catch up when needed.

When this all started, I didn't even want to be friends with any vampires. I didn't even want to be involved in any of this. It didn't exactly work out that way.

[ Now both of her best friends are, not to mention her future best friend and that just WAY too much for her to even think about. ]

I didn't even know about longevity spells before now. I guess I still have a lot to learn.

When you were here before, I was teaching you some of what I know.

[She tips her head to the side for a moment.]

I wouldn't mind doing the same now, if you wanted to learn.

[ Bonnie thinks about that, her jaw tightening as she furrows her brow. The idea of tangling with a family member of the Originals goes against everything in her nature. But so does most of the things she's learned about here, down to why she would name a ferret after Damon, who is now, supposedly, her best friend.

She finally presses her lips into a smile. ]

I would actually really like that. Thank you.

Good.

[She smiles a bit in return, before Damon finally gets over his need for attention and crawls back into Freya's lap.]

[ Bonnie offers a nod, giving Damon a parting scratch behind the ears before he departs back to his other mom. ]
