I. Second Time's The Charm This... this looks awfully familiar, and... familiar in an awful way. Look around all you like, it won't change, it won't go away. You are in Wonderland. No, worse: You're back in Wonderland. Just when everything was nice and comfortable at home, or-- or wasn't it? Maybe you're happy to be here again. Hey, no judgement, free room and board is nothing to scoff at! Blessing or curse, that's really up to you; all you know for sure is that, apparently, you're here to stay. II. What will you children do next? It's time for another wonderful event in Wonderland! For its duration characters will suddenly find themselves ten years older or younger. This can be physically, mentally, or both, i.e., if your character is 20 years old right now, they may become 10 physically but still have the mind and memories of their 20-year-old self, or they may revert to the mentality of their 10-year-old self and lose all the memories they have of being older. Characters over 200 years old may even age by a century, as a decade isn't that long for them. III. Through The Looking-Glass What an extraordinary day! All of Wonderland's mirrors-- just the things, not the capital Mirrors, not the ones like you --are suddenly shattered! Shards on the floor as far as the eye can see, and empty frames that are just begging to be stepped through! Oh, but you should really stay on your side unless the Queen of Hearts orders it otherwise. Or should you? Who's to say she wouldn't want you to investigate? Go ahead, go on, explore the real side for a change! Or... stay put right where you are, and see who comes to visit. It's really up to you. IV. Wildcard Play out your character's arrival. Celebrate their anniversary. Choose a different event to experience. Do anything and everything you like! |

I'm trying to figure out my next course of action. As you can see, my hat has been crushed. It was a good hat. And it is not one that's easily replaced. I admit I'm at a loss, Captain.
no subject
Still, it's hard to just forget, given the striking resemblance. Steve could accept the idea of different versions of people from different universes a little easier than this.]
Why is it not easily replaced? [Steve draws closer and glances down at the sad excuse for a hat. It doesn't look that specialized, so...] Sentimental value?
no subject
I have tried for years to make its equal. It may look the same, but nothing ever works. The right kind of magic just doesn't exist in this world. [There's an edge of frustration in his voice.] It never works.
no subject
Not that Steve feels particularly threatened by the Mad Hatter, and he's going to insist to himself that it has nothing to do with the familiar face.
He takes a few more steps toward the pair through the suspiciously well-manicured grass.] So what is the right kind of magic?
[Even now, Steve isn't that familiar with any kind of magic, but he's still curious.]
no subject
He pushes himself to standing finally, seeming to limp off his right foot but making no comment about it.] When I was stuck in Wonderland before, I couldn't make it work. The magic is the same even if the setting isn't, so I'm suck. It worked once, but then a prince crushed it.
no subject
Steve immediately notices the limp, given that he's so familiar with Bucky's gait, and he frowns but doesn't comment on it just yet. The magic is the same, but the setting isn't...]
Well, we're all stuck if that makes you feel any better. [It probably doesn't. Steve sets a hand on his hip as he contemplates.] Are you saying you've been to a different version of Wonderland before? [Talk about bad luck...]
no subject
The hat in such sad shape only accentuates his mood.]
It appears so. This Wonderland is missing some very dangerous key elements of the one I've traveled to, but it's no more inviting. The fact that "we're all stuck" isn't exactly a ray of sunshine.
no subject
Well, it means that you're not alone in this, at least. [Because having to go through everything that Wonderland throws with them without any kind of support? Well, it'd be enough to drive anyone mad.
Steve tilts his head curiously toward Jefferson.] Key elements like what?
