[ Mako, you have to expect the Most Theatrical from her. Basically always. ]

B-But... that one looked especially yummy. [ whine whine

Usagi sticks out her bottom lip, accepting the cloth and dabbing pointedly at her very, very minor burn. ]

Mmm... which ones were ready to eat, then?

[fulmen]

[ she can't help the grin that lifts the corners of her mouth. mildly patronizing, and easily far more were she not predisposed to love every bit of her friend. ]

Well, come and see for yourself, you poor burned girl! [ along the far counter, where mako leads the way, are piles of pastries and cakes. sweet dumplings and jellies. ] I was up so early this morning, I guess I lost track of the time...

[perigean]

[ AND she's forgotten about the burn; Usagi's eyes widen dramatically at the sight of the baked goods, her mouth opening as she draws in a very, very excited breath. ]

You always make such delicious sweets, Mako-chan. [ She practically hums it, starry-eyed as she turns from the snacks to her friend. ] Are you sure these aren't so hot? If I burn my mouth, I won't be able to taste any of them!

[fulmen]

[ cheeks already pink, mako dips her head down a little at usagi's compliments. ]

Well, as long as you like them. [ she then reaches out, long fingers picking up a small taiyaki to take a bite in demonstration. ] See? These ones are ready to share. Come on, let's eat, Usagi-chan.

[perigean]

I know the others will, too. They have to!

[ Who wouldn't like Mako-chan's cooking? As far as Usgai's concerned, there isn't anything better. Which is why she has a very hard time deciding between what's been laid out in front of her, but in the end, the blonde opts for the same as her friend, plucking up a cake for herself. ]

Let's eat! [ She choruses, and takes an eager bite of the taiyaki. Immediately, she seems to melt where she stands, clutching the fish close to her chest. ]

Amazing! I could eat every one of these - mmph. [ om nom nom ]

[fulmen]

Slow down! You're going to give yourself hiccups, or a stomach ache...

[ chastisement that falls light, if the way mako digs in alongside usagi is any indication. she can't really blame her; eating food made by hand is so much better than just asking the mansion to make it for you. ]

If no one else comes, will you help me take what's left to the diner? Maybe people will be too tempted to pass it by there.

[perigean]

[ As if on cue, there's an enormous hicCUP and Usagi slaps a hand to her mouth, looking forlorn. ]

Ahhhh, noooo... [ HICCUP. She covers her mouth with both hands and holds her breath, looking determined.......... until she can't anymore and she releases it with a mighty gasp.

And returns to her snacks, hiccuping occasionally. ]

'M sure someone else will come by! [ Says the girl with the full mouth. ] Maybe they... [ gulp! ] ... didn't get your message, somehow!

[fulmen]

[ despite her foresight, usagi-chan's first hiccup startles mako into a momentary stunned silence. she somehow holds back the impulse to nyah-nyah at usagi with an i-told-you-so and just giggles and shakes her head. ]

Maybe. And if not, I guess that's more for us, right?

[ amicably, mako bumps usagi's shoulder with her own, though possibly a little harder than intended. sometimes she still forgets her own strength... ]
