[She's as stubborn as she's always been, and despite everything Neal huffs out a laugh to hear it. God, it feels like it's been so long since any of them had that sort of hope in Wonderland. Even Henry, who always believes, always has faith; even his heart has taken a beating during his tenure in this realm.

Neal's tried, but he's not going to push his point. Even if he can't hold out the hope for himself, he won't take it from Emma. Not like this, and when they look at each other he wears a crooked grin.]

Yeah, about that. [How this place works; Emma's about to get a primer, because that's the best way Neal's got to veer her off the subject of saving him.] What's the last thing you remember, Emma? Before you got here, I mean.

I was in Storybrooke.

[Not all that specific, she knows. Actually, that's the whole point. He didn't sacrifice himself so that she could turn around and do the same, but that's almost what it feels like. It's not that she doesn't believe her family will save her, because she does, but Emma isn't naive. She's seen the damage Neal's father has caused. With darkness inside of her, everything is going to be a fight.

It hasn't happened yet, but it could. Maybe it even followed her here; she's not going to know until Neal gives her the ten cent tour.]

[More like a step away from couldn't be more vague, but even in those first words Neal starts picking up on the fact that there's something about all this Emma doesn't want to say. But what Emma doesn't yet know is everything Neal's been told, about her future, the one he won't be part of due to that sacrifice. There's only so many moments that might have her panicked as she was, but Neal's willing to bet on one in particular. It's a transformation he's seen once, thanks to Regina's turn in Wonderland, and one he never wants to imagine Emma going through.]

Okay. Sounds like you might be from further in the past than most of the others here. We all get pulled from different points in time.
