+ ENTRANCEWAY TEST DRIVE MEME +
You have isolated your victim to study it at length, seeking to become them. You are nearly satisfied you know your chosen subject, ready to take on its form, leaving the poor soul to rot. You crave bottomlessly to be more, more powerful, more skilled, more inspired, and being them will be so much more interesting.
They will tell you what they think, they will tell you what they feel, they will tell you what they see. Are all these shapes useful? Will they let you know them? Will they tell you more about them?
For you must see more. You have not yet seen enough. You must rise--

merlin | kingsman
[ One of the benefits of having been deeply involved in digital engineering since the digital revolution hit it's stride in the late 70s is that Merlin can hack nearly anything. He's not infallible of course. Technology continues to develop at a rapid pace that occasionally outstrips his perhaps more traditional but every evolving approach, and even he can't get past a bio-lock without the skin and retinas that come along with it. Contrary to what some might choose to believe, he's not a goddamn wizard.
It's why upon arriving suddenly in Wonderland, after the initial drawing of his weapon and exploring until he found a room made for him, that he started to work. He explored the network, tried to hack into the system, but it was like nothing he had ever seen before. It was almost as if there was no firewall to hack past, no system to hack into at all.
Fascinating.
So, his first message to the Network is informed. It's simple, and straight forward. No beating around the bush here. ]
If anyone on this network knows anything about our abductors, please let me know. I understand the general gist of our situation, there is no need to fill me in.
If anyone else has tried and failed to hack into the system, I would love to discuss.
Sincerely,
M.
ACTION 1 | LIBRARY
[ How long has it been since Merlin has been in an actual library, with a book solid in his hands? At least a decade he thinks, more likely two with how quickly the web took the information reigns. Yet here he is, in an unknown location under the guise of Wonderland, waiting for the Knights to come storm the castle so to speak and rescue their wizard.
He's been in worse hostage situations than this, to be sure, though the more research he does the more he's wont to classify this as a kidnapping instead; A hostage implies that the kidnapper expects a rescue effort. The powers that be here seem to not.
He has a pile of books on Wonderland and the newest books on digital technologies that he can find (publishing year 2255, that must be a typo, but he's picked that one out as well) and a cup of milk tea. All things considered, he might even make himself comfortable. A library that allowed a cuppa, how novel. ]
ACTION 2 | HALLS
[ ALT OPTION! Run into him while he's gun-cocked wandering the halls, before he has any idea what's going on. ]

Well, I'm glad to see that your training has gone completely to waste. Getting yourself kidnapped right off the bat, not good.
Come find me, room 226.
no subject
[ god damn hes so salty rn
give him like 5 mins ]
no subject
[ Be salty, Eggsy, he's a Scot he can handle it.
And he'll be waiting. ]
no subject
er... knock knock]
no subject
[ He's still seated at his desk with his device propped up, but he spins his chair to face Eggsy when the door opens. First reactions aside, he is glad that whatever's happened, Eggsy isn't hurt or worse. He stands, a politeness ingrained in him at a young age, hands skimming momentarily down the small of his back before sliding into his pockets. ]
Alright then? Still in one piece?
no subject
[he shrugs. manners may indeed maketh the man, but in a situation like this which is insane, he kind of falls back on his upbringing. hands in his pockets, slouching a little more than he should. but it's more than lack of manners, it's fear. he's learnt to deal with people that shoot at you. magic that an kidnap you, though? nah that's horrific. you can't shoot that.]
What about you?
no subject
[ That's all the acknowledgement that he's just fine that Eggsy will get at the moment. There are more pressing issues to attend to. Merlin motions to the bed with his head. ]
Sit down.
[ He does the same, sitting in his chair and rolling over. ]
Let's start at the beginning. Tell me everything that you've learned about this place.
no subject
eggsy goes to take a seat, on the bed. sure.]
Did you get the pamphlets? I found a pamphlet.
no subject
No.
[ Surprised comes along with a furrowed brow in his case. ]
I wasn't aware of any pamphlet. Have you got it on you then?

[ Not entirely true, but there's no reason to be forthcoming about his actual specialties. ]

It's a few minutes before he responds again. ]
Thank you N that was very helpful.
I'm beginning to suspect that either the base code is in an entirely different system or doesn't exist to begin with, as impossible as it might sound.

And yet here we are.
text;
Have you had much experience with this kind of kidnapping?
text;
text;
I did a survey of the population. None of them have seen anything like this place, even if they're accustomed to travelling through dimensions.
text;
As someone who is not quite so accustomed to the notion, that isn't particularly reassuring.
I'm interested to see your survey notes, if you wouldn't mind.
