[Marceline frowns a little, pulling back. Months? Glob, it was like that night with the varmints all over again.]

... The Vampire King. That whole mess. Why?

[monosaccharide]

...the Vampire King. [It isn't something that rings particular bells for Bonnibel, which means one very uncomfortable thing.

Marceline's from her future. Marceline knows more than her. This is terrible.]

That hasn't happened for me yet. One of the... complications of dimensional travel.

[bassriff]

[wow!! priorities, Bonnie.]

... It wasn't pretty. [Marceline glances off to the side, scrubbing a hand back through her hair. If Bonnibel wasn't from the same point she was, then...?] Look, can we... go someplace else and talk? It sounds like we've got some catch-up to do.

[monosaccharide]

[Bonnie considers for a moment.] The tea rooms. [There are enough of them that it's usually easy to find some privacy, but without the intimacy of a shared bedroom.] I can fill you in on Wonderland, you can tell me about what's going on at home.

[bassriff]

Okay. Yeah. [At least she doesn't seem to be from that far back, if she's being civil.]

Come on, lead the way.

[monosaccharide]

[She leads Marceline to an empty tea room and grabs some tea, along with a plate of strawberries for Marceline.]

So. Has anyone filled you in at all yet?

[bassriff]

[Marceline takes a seat, picking up one of the strawberries.]

We're down the rabbit hole, welcome to Wonderland, that whole biz. Whatever that actually means.

[monosaccharide]

Yep. It means... well, a lot of things. For one, that until either I figure out a way to reverse the universal relocation mechanisms that draws us here or the place is done with us, we're stuck. Apparently time remains stagnant back home, at least, and people don't age while they're here, though obviously that isn't an issue for us.

[bassriff]

Huh.

So... what's the last thing you remember? What's the last thing we did?

[monosaccharide]

You, Finn, and Jake went on that expedition to fetch the Spoon of Prosperity. It was a few weeks ago.

[bassriff]

Yeah, that was a year ago for me. At least. Jeez... [Marcy drains one of her strawberries, trying to think. At least that was after Maja.]

We didn't really talk about it back then, but-- this [and she gestures quickly between the two of them, trying not to look as awkward as she feels right now. Probably failing at that.] isn't weird for you, right? We're okay?

[Y'know, weird alternate universes and time travel aside. She doesn't know how to approach this, and with time being weird here - there are so, so many ways this could have gone badly.]

[monosaccharide]

Of course we're okay, Marceline. Why would it be weird? [It's always weird. Good or bad, Marceline is weird. But acknowledging that comes too close to admitting there are feelings there, and feelings aren't something she can afford right now.]

[bassriff]

Just making sure. [Marceline bobs her head, accepting it for now. She almost wants to tell Bonnibel everything that's happened, get her up to speed on the past week, but she's still struggling to come to terms with it herself.]

[monosaccharide]

Has anyone given you the introductory pamphlet?

[bassriff]

Like - an actual pamphlet? No, don't think so.

[monosaccharide]

Well, for the most part we keep it digital, but... yes. [She pulls out her phone and sends Marceline a file. This contains most of the basic information.]

[bassriff]

... Hhhhhuh.

The events as bad as this makes 'em sound?

[monosaccharide]

It varies. But yes. When they get bad they get... very bad. People don't stay dead, though, which I suppose helps.
