I've lived a very long time, and I can't say I've ever fallen into a novel's alternate dimension.

And seeing as I'm here, I would say, yes. I've definitely been sucked in, as you put it.

Besides, when I decide I'm bored, I'll just find who's responsible, and they can either send me back, or I'll make them pay. It's a simple as that, really.
