They were oil and water, or perhaps oil and flame, they were more combustible when mixed. Volatility was their trademark. But yes, this was the worst type of family reunion ever, of all time.

"Good." That was for the best, the two had never had a smooth interaction on any side of things.

"I really don't like the sound of that." She growled low and clenched her fists. Abduction was something she was not comfortable with and now she knew it had been done to Carolina too and Wash and Church. She'd been trying to stop things from turning out like this before. She'd failed again. She shouldn't be surprised. "So, I'm going to assume you've already tried to break out."

Volatility. Just something that ran in the family, it seemed.

"You're not the only one." Welcome to the club, Tex. Abduction on its own was bad enough, but something like this? Something supposedly magic, for lack of a better word, trapped in some bizarre world with people from all kinds of different universes with seemingly no escape? That special kind of abduction took the cake. Carolina breathed a soft snort, something of a scornful laugh. "Of course I've tried. Tried being the operative word. You walk too far in one direction, say into the woods, and you eventually end up right back where you started. There aren't any kind of barriers to find, and it doesn't matter if you keep walking straight ahead. You always come back."

She hadn't tried swimming as far as she could in the ocean yet, but that was more out of disinterest in discovering whether or not there really was some sort of sea monster that would devour you if you went too far. Aside from those two options, there weren't a whole lot of other escape attempts to make.
