Events? Like, festivals?

[How odd. This whole world was...odd. And Frisk sounds like they have been hurt because of it. He tries to ignore the little pang he feels at the thought of Frisk being hurt again, but he tightens his grip on their hand slightly.]

Oh, delightful! So what is past this place then? Is there a city? [Were there native inhabitants? He didn't know if he actually wanted that answer...]

[Okay so they might've died a little bit. But they're used to that! It's all good, really. They're fiiiiine everything's fine.]

Sometimes there's parties and things, though! We try to have our own fun here. There's the mansion, where everyone lives, and some gardens and woods and stuff just outside!

[Kind of? That doesn't sound promising, but he feels like pushing further might not be the best thing in the moment.]

So there is nothing past the mansion, then? Other than these gardens and woods?

[Yeah, okay. This place is officially Freaky.]

I guess. Anyone who tries to leave just kind of...ends up back here.

[That's the...less fun part. Frisk tries to look appropriately optimistic, but there's still a flicker of uncertainty as they mention that rather important tidbit.]

So, we truly are trapped?

[How did Mettaton get himself into this situation? What a lovely feeling of dread to have settle in your heart. But, being the talented actor he is, he hides any changes and instead goes back to his usual smile.]

How long have you been here, then?

Umm, a few months, I think? It's not so bad, really! Almost everyone else is here, and we keep each other company. And...well, there's always something going on.

[Ever the optimist, though Frisk's smile is a little strained, notably. It's hard to keep up a cheery disposition after everything that's...happened.]

There certainly will be more than something going on now that I am here!

[He poses dramatically again, somehow getting the light to shine off his face, reflecting his eyes handsomely.]

I will have to entertain the entirety of Wonderland's residents until I am tragically ripped away by the next magical entity that desires me.

[His face turns...feline-esque and he winks at Frisk. He saw that strained smile and is trying to cure it the only way he knows how- performance.]

[Everyone's stayed more or less strong despite it, pushing through the worst parts and living and loving the rest. They'd expect no less from their friends. Sometimes they think monsters are more resilient than humans gave them credit for.

Frisk knows exactly nothing about entertainment and "show biz," as it were, but they think they have an idea where to start.]

There's a ballroom in the mansion, I think.

A ballroom! Ohohohoho, I have a lot of ideas for what we can do with a ballroom. We could have dance competitions, balls, regular parties, oh the things are endless~!

[He drops Frisk's hand and twirls in place to emphasize. His eyes are shining.]

We're going to have to get you the cutest outfit. If you're going to be performing with me, you're going to have to be top notch in your fashion. Luckily you're adorable so we don't need to do too much to you for you to shine. And if you have anyone else who you think could add to this, they are most welcome to help~!

[Ah-ha! They knew that'd cheer him up, and hopefully take his mind off the less than ideal things Wonderland puts them all through. Frisk's grin is back, pleased that Mettaton seems suitably delighted about the mansion's thoughtfulness.]

Ummm - do you know Papyrus? Skeleton who used to live in Snowdin? He'd - he'd really like to meet you, I think!

[How could they forget? Honestly, how would anyone forget a skeleton calling a literal rectangle his "favorite sexy robot"? That's not something one forgets.]
