[ so much is surprising about this - that peter is here, that he's out of his suit, that he's being so open with his powers. her expression goes from confused to curious to worried in a matter of seconds, before she gets closer still, searching his face like this might be a dream or this might not really be peter or any number of things, but the way he says her name she can't help but think it's really him. ]

What are you doing?

[she laughs when she asks, she doesn't really know why. This is all just so weird. but it's peter, so that's one good thing.]

[peter stares at her as his mouth parts, and he still... stares, because it's hard to process this is actually happening. gwen is here. she is obviously here, and he is not seeing things. this is not- he shakes his head, dropping down after a moment. the question makes him pause, stumble- there's the swift realization that her father is dead, and as far as he knows, she doesn't even know about that. his brain has ceased to work as it should, and he doesn't remember that time works differently and she could be from any point in the world they share-]

Just... hanging out.

You're- You're really here?

[he steps toward her then, shaking his head abruptly as his mouth is still parted, and he's- he is kind of gaping like a fish]

[thats a pretty normal look for peter, so it works out. it makes things seem more normal, even if none of this makes sense at all.]

Yeah, I guess I am.

I didn't think-

[peter walks the rest of the way toward her, and he shakes his head, because words escape him. his mouth opens, and he gapes, and-]

Are you okay?

[ it isn't until he asks the question that she realizes she's not, and she doesn't know how to keep it off her face. she looks scared, for a moment, and then ducks away from him. ]

I...no, I don't think am I. This isn't right.

[peter frowns in deep concern, stepping quickly toward her as he reaches out to rest his hand against her arm. he gives a gentle, protective squeeze before he swallows down that concern again]

Hey, it's okay. I mean, I know this world doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but you're safe.
