Because what else could it be. Totally a coincidence. Maybe that's why Tex never talked about him.

"Yeah, yeah... Look, I really don't give a crap about Project Freelancer or anyone in it. They've fucked my life up enough as it is. As far as I'm concerned, I'm not 'affiliated' with any of you."

He's still pissed about what they did to Tex with their crazy AI implantation shit. The whole Wyoming trying to kill Tucker and Omega going on a 'take over the universe' binge didn't exactly help either.

And then watching Tex getting blown all to hell.

He might just be a little bitter.
