captain kathryn janeway | star trek: voyager.

i. action: arrival (mansion)
[ without fail, red alert sounds at the most inopportune of times. such as when the captain is actually heeding the advice of her holographic chief medical officer (for once) and taking a much needed break from her never-ending list of duties on the holodeck. thus, it's while adorning a dress straight out of the victorian era that she darts out into the corridor, bumping into a few engineering-bound crewmen as the ship rocks from the force of unseen weapons fire. she barely has time to swing by her quarters to grab the necessities -- her combadge, tricorder, and just in case: phaser -- on her way to the bridge. no time to change into uniform.

this was supposed to be friendly territory. she spent two weeks negotiating voyager's passage through this region. if whoever was firing on them had any sort of ties to the magistrate of this system, there were going to be words. a very unpleasant series of them. ]

Helm, hold our position. Tuvok, I want to know who's firing on us and--

[ it takes a moment for the unfamiliar scenery of the mansion to catch up with her. she'd been walking and talking on autopilot, quickly switching the proverbial gears to manual control.

was she still on the holodeck? ]

Computer, end program. [ nothing. ] Computer, display exit. [ nope. ] Janeway to Bridge, respond. [ not happening. ]

Janeway to Voyager. [ silence. she huffs in annoyance, rolling her eyes. this is the last thing she needs. ] ...of course.

ii. action: later (kitchen)
[ she can be found in the kitchen later on in the day, petticoat tossed aside while elbow-deep in the depths of a partially gutted microwave. immodest for a victorian woman, but practical for a woman from the 24th century who was attempting to macgyver antique parts together in a futile attempt at boosting frequency of the subspace beacon in her combadge. ]

iii. network: audio only
"Welcome to Wonderland," [ she reads aloud, skimming through the pamphlet she's been handed. the literary reference is unfortunately lost on her. alice's adventures in wonderland wasn't required reading at starfleet academy. ] Ominous, but a relatively tame greeting in comparison to some of the others I've heard. Certainly beats "the weak will perish" and "resistance is futile."

How accurate is the information presented in this pamphlet? [ aka if it's watered down, she wants to hear the unfiltered version. ]
