[Very often, Rip cannot be called a sensitive man. Too often he gets so wrapped up in his own thoughts and plans that he can miss certain things happening around him. Yet he has also tried to change that aspect of himself in regards to the people he considers his team. There is something in Sara's reaction, a moment he cannot quite name or place--but just as he thinks he might grasp it, she smiles instead, commenting on the supposed similarities between where they are now and the ship where they should be.

Rip supposes he should just be thankful she missed the commentary on potentially turning it into a vessel for leisure cruises.]

Oh, far less than you might think. My ship at least makes sense. [Made of parts and pieces and circuits and wires that all have a purpose and a place. This has been one of the more frustrating aspects of being trapped within Wonderland for Rip, and his mouth tightens briefly before he moves on to larger, more complicated matters. He motions towards a set of stairs, taking the lead to begin their ascent.]

Dr. Palmer, first of all; like you he is from what I see as the future, although given that he hasn't made mention of an atomic bomb hitting my ship--[Rip would get over that eventually, probably. Maybe.]--perhaps not so far as you.

Mr. Rory, on the other hand, comes from the past: from some point after Mr. Snart took him off the ship following his betrayal of us to the time pirates, but before the Time Masters found him.

[It's quite a significant jump back--yet not so jarring, Rip thinks, as the person he has to list last. Sara is from the future, so she knows of all that happens at the Vanishing Point.

Including of who was lost there. It is why he stops, turning to face Sara, to look at her directly as he rounds out the list.]

And Mr. Snart, who last remembers the explosion of the Oculus.

( sara's glad to have rip off her back for the time being — glad to hear about any of the other legends who managed to find their way here, one way or another. they may be dysfunctional as hell, but they make a pretty decent team; besides, they don't have to worry about messing up any of their pasts or futures while in wonderland, which is something that they do best.

she follows him towards the stairs, nodding as he goes through each person and — maybe more importantly — their place in their timeline.

it's mostly good to hear the ray's here if only because he's from rip's future, which means that he can't be too far from where sara'd been yanked from. note to self: figure that out with ray once she's settled. if she's settled.

the mick news is slightly disconcerting considering sara remembers the state he'd been in leading up to him selling the team out to the time pirates and she remembers fighting against him on the waverider when the pirates had stormed the ship. she remembers questioning how snart could be so okay with killing his partner when he'd so vehemently insisted that sara didn't have to be a killer. she knows the truth now, but she can only imagine how mick must feel ...

except then rip stops in his tracks and turns to face her, watches her with what feels like a thinly veiled sense of scrutiny for what her reaction might be.

mr. snart. speak — think of the devil, even — and he appears, rises from the dead like a ghost. he remembers the explosion at the oculus. she remembers the explosion at the oculus. she remembers those last few moments, a stolen kiss that she felt like talking to anyone about after, buried away in memories of stupid card games and of wiping tears away from her face before anyone on the ship could question her.

it's a shock and a half, and she hates the way that rip waits for what she'll say or do before proceeding to wherever they're heading. sara lets out a soft exhale, lets her eyes flutter closed for a moment. it's a rare moment of vulnerability, whether it's relief that he's here or pain at the recollection of what had happened. it ends almost as quickly as it began, though, with her eyes blinking open, turning a head to glance towards the stairs before them before answering, )
One hell of a crew you got here.

[It is a great deal to think about and accept; Rip wonders for a moment if he has truly offered her kindness by revealing those details, one after the other, not unlike the way he might hand over a report of some incident, date and time, here are the facts. Yet seeing her stop—seeing her unable to hide her emotion, even if only for a moment, cements for Rip that the warning has indeed served its purpose. Although he wishes not to have inflicted what he believes to be pain, it would be worse, he thinks, if she were to have found Leonard first with no warning.

Particularly since Sara truly has no idea where she was meant to have ended up when she found herself in Wonderland instead.]

…Indeed. [He would like to offer more: an apology, perhaps, for being the bearer of the news. But as she so often does Sara takes her feelings and tucks them away, locks them behind walls that Rip cannot always see past. He hesitates but a moment before resuming his upward climb, sure she would do the same.]

Although I must confess, it’s less a crew than an unruly group of individuals most days. [Leonard and Mick in particular, which should come as no surprise. Rip has not told this to either of them, or to anyone else within Wonderland for that matter—but as he looks over at the woman, he feels compelled to tell her.

She is, after all, Sara.]

And it is rather hard to claim to be a Captain when one doesn’t possess a ship. [Or the brand of loyalty those close confines and shared mission had inspired.]
