[ the face onscreen is young and pale and framed in fire-red. sophie-anne's lips spread in gleeful smile (lined, also, in red). ]

What things hold you back from doing the things that you really want to do?

( so enlist every ounce of your bright blood, and off with their heads. )

[ as lovely as the cold night here in the gardens is, sophie-anne is not watching the stars or the night-blooming flowers. she stands at the edge of a small pond, with her head down and her dress hoisted up. she raises one red stiletto and brings it down against the ice with too much force. when she lifts it again, her foot is dripping in ice water. she pouts and she laments: ]

( it's not his problem. she's not his responsibility, but unfortunately the parts of him that actually give a fuck aren't quite so willing to leave sophie-anne to her own devices. the mansion is undeserving of her boredom. or her voracious appetite and unwillingness to mainstream. )

[ nothing like a little death-by-traitor turned wonderland adventure to... temper her temper? sophie-anne sighs, moving along to another smooth part of the pond and placing her heel onto it, pressing more gently this time. ]

I asked you to stop calling me that.

[ she understood her place in this world very shortly after arriving. still, she can't quite shake the haughty tilt of her jaw. she still makes these demands, no matter how small-sounding. the ice starts to crack, this time, slowly and spidering. ]

That's easy. Nothing. If I want to do them, why should I let anything stop me?

[ ooh. sophie fights the urge to get closer to the screen, and instead adjusts to cross her legs. ]

You're telling me you've done everything you desire? No regrets trailing along behind you?

[ dramatic as ever, her fingers airwalk and she lets her hand glide offscreen before dropping back into her lap. ]

Maybe not everything yet, but I'll get there. Desires change, right? Hard to say if you've done everything. I've got some years left to work out some more wants.

[In theory. People in her line of work didn't always live too long, but it's entirely possible she'll make it to thirty.]

Nothing lasts, that's for certain. Except for chaos, of course.

[ personal fortunes, political standing, perspective-- these have all been proven fragile, lying in ruins behind her. even sophie's own unlife. ]

And then there is the obvious counter to your argument. Unless you don't want to leave Wonderland?

Of course I want to.

[Sure, her world is hellish in its own way, but its home, and she has people waiting for her.]

That said, I'm used to things not going as planned. You learn to adapt. Change your wants, or find a way to knock those obstacles out of your way. Hoping for the latter, personally.
