video; THIS IS FINE
It's him.
The man from her picture. He even has the scar, so it can't be Daisy's friend who died.
Now that she's faced with it, Jane doesn't know what to do. She clears her throat, wets her lips, and says nothing. She needs to and wants to before someone else does, but she has no idea who he is. Her brother, so this should come naturally, shouldn't it? She's supposed to protect him. That much she knows instinctively. ]
I'm...I'm here. Where are you?
[ Her voice shakes, maybe the only thing that betrays her cool exterior. ]
I'll come find you.
*hyperventilates*
Downstairs. The lobby.
action; let's just fuck everything up right away which is also jane's motto in life
I'll be there soon.
[ And she is, less than five minutes later because she ran all the way down all six flights of stairs from the tattoo parlor. Pausing in the stairwell to catch her breath, she closes her eyes and pulls up the video again, just looking at him, wanting to remember something about him before she faces him, but it's impossible. At least right now. When she finally walks into the lobby she spots him immediately and makes her way to him. ]
Are you okay?
[ First things first; he'll know soon enough she has no idea who he is. ]
it's a sibling thing
Are you? Where were you? What...what happened to us?
no subject
[ She manages to smile just a little, but it doesn't quite reach her eyes. ]
I'll explain everything, but there's something you should know first.
[ She swallows and clears her throat. ]
I don't...know you. I know you're important to me, but that's it.
[ At that, she pulls the pictures she has out of her back pocket. It goes everywhere with her and she passes it over. It's clearly them in happier times, smiling together at a lake. ]
This is the only reason why. I can feel it, that you're my family. I've wanted to meet you for a long time.
no subject
They took your memory again?
no subject
[ She can see him panicking and immediately she reaches out, her hand going to his shoulder and squeezing gently. It's instinctive. That part hasn't gone anywhere, it seems. And this meeting is so different compared to when she met her brother with Sheperd....which she doesn't remember yet. Whatever. ]
When people are brought here, it can be at different points in their timelines. I think I'm from before we ever met. What's your name?
no subject
[ He shakes his head, closing his eyes tightly for a moment and drawing in a sharp breath. ] Our mother changed it.
no subject
Alice Kruger.
She's Alice. And she's in Wonderland, but she'll think about that later. She frowns instead. ]
Our mother changed our names? Is she...is she alive?
no subject
[ He lifts his head swiftly, and his eyes are a little red. ]
She did this to me, she took my memories away because she couldn't control me anymore.
no subject
[ She means the tattoos in general, and she sort of gestures at her entire body. If she did this to Roman, she probably did it to Jane but why? God, this is all so...she has no words. ]
Come on, let's sit.
[ Gently she takes his hand, guiding him to a few chairs out of the way. ]
no subject
[ He looks down at their joined hands, studying it, as if still trying to wrap his mind around the concept of human touch. There's so much he doesn't remember, but it feels like this was always a rare thing for him. When they sit, he has to ask. ]
Is Kurt here? He's the last thing I remember.
no subject
[ Jane clears her throat and looks at Roman. ]
We live together. His sister is here, too but you've never met her, even before our mother erased your memories.
[ She has another question though, eyes looking at him imploringly. ]
Who's our mother? What's her name?
no subject
[ It just slips out, he has no idea he shouldn't have said that, probably. ]
Our mother - you call her Shepherd.
no subject
[ wHAT. No. No, no, no. This is not what she wants to hear. If there's someone else named Oliver, it means there's no Kurt, and she doesn't want to know what that means.
And then he says their mother is Shepherd and she's pretty sure she's going to pass out because what the fuck is happening right now. ]
There's no one else. Kurt...Kurt and I have been here for nine...maybe ten months. I can't remember. Time doesn't actually move here. When we're here, time is frozen for us back home.
[ Explaining this is better than focusing on everything else that came out of Roman's mouth. ]
no subject
Um. He's...a friend. I think. He gave you flowers, but...if you and Kurt. It...it doesn't mean anything, right?
[ He should probably be the one reassuring her, and yet. ]
no subject
I guess we'll see. This place has a way of pulling people together. But it might not mean anything.
[ She tries to smile reassuringly at him, squeezing his hand again. ]
You said the last thing you remember is being somewhere with Kurt?

Action (Kill me pls.)
Lincoln?
no subject
I'm...I'm sorry, I don't remember you. [ Judging by the look on her face, that's not going to be great news, and he actually does feel a flicker of regret, that he can't just be who she needs him to be. ] I don't remember a lot of things right now.
no subject
This is not something Daisy thought she would ever have to deal with. Seeing someone who looks exactly like Lincoln, but isn't actually him. The guilt hits her like a brick all over again as all of those memories come flooding back. Lincoln is dead because of her.]
I thought you were someone else. Sorry.
[Except now she isn't sure what to do. It's hard to even look at a picture she had kept of Lincoln without crying, and then there's this guy here that looks almost exactly like him. If it weren't for the scar on his face, she would've thought it was him. This wasn't a dream and this wasn't Lincoln.
She actually didn't even know his name, because Jane didn't know his name. Daisy is making a really great first impression though, with the way she's just staring at him.]
no subject
He's quiet as all these thoughts and possibilities run through his mind, but then he finally clears his throat, looking both earnest and sad. Because she seems a little sad. ]
I'm sorry. I wish I could be him. For you. [ He clears his throat again. ] You seem sad.
no subject
His words don't exactly help with all of that as a lump forms in her throat and she wraps her arms around herself tightly in an attempt to hold herself together.]
It's-
[Well it's not fine. At all.]
There's someone here looking for you.
no subject
My sister? Jane?
no subject
[Jane couldn't remember who he was to her, but somehow she didn't expect for them to be siblings. Then again, she barely knew her.]
She doesn't remember you, she just had a picture of you.
