Yeah.

( her eyes light up with the risk/reward now dangling between them. claudia smirks. )

You wanna just go for it?

( There's an excited smile. Danger is her middle name )

( She's holding her hand out to let Claudia go for it )

( it's almost enough to call her bluff. but hg is cool and smart and claudia doesn't back down from her teenage bravado. she grabs it. her only tell is how she scrunches her eyes shut and hunches her shoulders before lifting it above her head and flipping it open dramatically. )

...Did anything happen?

( one scrunched eye opens and roves around as if she's expecting to have been transported to the mirror side or something. )

Not even a shock.

( And Helena sounds thoroughly disappointed by that, words punctuated with pauses )

How disappointing. But where one thing fails there are other options. I'm certain that's not the only thing in your head.

[hackrid]

What the hell, man? C'mon.

( claudia grumbles, and lets her hand drop to face level. she shakes the thing, and then turns it over in her hands a few times. )

Do you think maybe it goes with something? Have you gotten anything weird recently?

[reperio]

Like a key?

( If only. But she does stop and think for a moment )

Didn't someone say that- ( And she stops, pulling out her device and handing it to Claudia ) Here. I saved the message.

( She trusts you to find it because Helena isn't certain that she could )

They said... How can you clasp someone's hands together in such a manner that they cannot leave the room without unclasping them?

[hackrid]

( she makes short work of finding said message, but helena's already reciting it before she can get there. )

Who talks like that? No offense. It sounds cool when you do it, really.

( if anything, it's claudia's own brand of teenage ribbing. she smirks up at helena before staring hard at the message on the screen. )

You wrap their arms around something, right? As long as it's something that won't fit through the door, I guess...

It's a riddle, darling.

( Though she doesn't mind that she sounds cool, and she meets Claudia's smirk with one of her own )

And you're right. Perhaps this won't open because of what it's clasped around.

( They might be able to flip open the clasp but the object was still firmly shut )

I'd suggest just taking it through a door but that could be oversimplifying it somewhat.

[hackrid]

( helena, you vixen you. breaking out the darlings already. that's cheating! )

Can't hurt to rule it out, at least.

( skip. skip a lip to the door. claudia looks back once, pointedly. purposefully. dramatically. )

Here goes nothing.

( she resumes her previous hunchy-scrunchy posture before jumping across the threschold. when nothing happens, she jumps back in. and then out again. in and out and in and out... )

Maybe it's the wrong door?

( She fiddles with her hands for a moment before putting them to her waist, raising her shoulders for a few seconds )

Not that I'm suggesting that we check all of them. If this object is serious we wouldn't have the time. ( Uhm, uhm ) What about... it has to be something small. Something worth protecting.

[hackrid]

OK, so something that matters. To-- what, the mansion?

( as if it's a haunting beast, claudia skitters back toward helena, glancing around the room. she's still not totally sure how this whole magic mansion thing works. )

I've heard people talk about Alice's room...

[reperio]

That could get it to unlock.

( It was definitely worth trying, although-- )

How do we know that whatever it's holding isn't something we should just... keep locked away?

[hackrid]

Yeah...

( claud whines hums and bounces on the balls of her feet a little. she desperately wants to know what's in this thing and it doesn't take her too long to try another angle-- )

Or... we crack it now and get one up on whatever's going to happen. ( more whining humming with a bonus wide doe-eyed pout?

and then she zooms for the door and down the hall! )

( Or Claudia could just run off. Helena had actually been about to agree but-- )

Claudia, wait.

( The chase is afoot. Sadly Claudia was younger and more prepared, letting her be just a little quicker )

We need a plan or something.
