actually, his prior choice of food really was crazy. She glances up from her eggs, pausing a moment before asking,] Did you eat that a lot?

Well, I think I can pretty much eat anything that's there so... Kind of?

[That's upsetting, almost. Not enough that he eyes shift away from their dead state, but her fork does hover her food a second longer than usual. There hadn't always been meals ready at home, but at least the fridge and cupboards were stocked enough that Ray could put something together when everyone else was in no mood for a family dinner. Her floor had been the same, with how specific she'd been in getting it set up. Cereal and soda in the same bowl was just...wrong... His new choice is fine, though.

Ray lightly nudges her hot sauce in his direction. It's good on pizza, too!!! She doesn't have busted tastebuds from eating so much spicy food!!]

So you were the first to try a lot of things. I don't think anyone else would have thought to put them together.

[If there is one thing Zack has learned from this whole ordeal, it's that Ray's eyes are always gonna be dead and there is nothing he can do to fix that. At least he doesn't give a rat's ass about food.]

I guess you could say that. The cereal and coke combo wasn't the worst thing I've ever eaten.

She hadn't really given much thought to the subject before, since her dietary needs had always been taken care of and Danny was free to get what he needed while he was out. Zack never left his floor, though... All that had been there was busted up buildings and garbage. Even if it suited a killer like him, it seemed odd to leave his food options so limited.]

...Your file mentioned substandard living conditions. I guess it isn't really a surprise to hear that, not that it really matters.

I just mentioned it because you talked about eating things worse than cereal and soda. And because I think it's -- [She pauses to consider her words. Her decision is more tactful, but it's less chosen because of that and more because it's what feels the most correct, to her.] ...different. It's different that you would choose to eat something like that when you're provided with plenty of normal food on this floor.
