Kuzunoha Raidou | Devil Summoner | OTA

[Raidou was now becoming more accustomed to Western-style buildings. The Capital was building more and more of those, thanks to the influence of that Western world. It shouldn't have mattered what world he was in though, there had to be demons. And Raidou was out to find them since he didn't have any of his own with him.

It was alarming, to say the least, as his kuda were completely empty now. He had twelve demons with him and all of a sudden, they had disappeared. Perhaps being here was his opportunity to find new ones. This was an entirely new world as Raidou had guessed. But alternate worlds, he was used to that too, which is why that alarm or surprise he had initially had also disappeared. To the same place as those demons, that was a possibility.

Thus he was inside the Mansion, investigating all the rooms available such as the kitchen, music room, ballroom, anywhere he could get to. He'd jot down all of notes in his notebook since Gouto wasn't here to assist with that.]

[Naoki was in the dining room when Raidou came to investigate that space. Crouched on one of the chairs instead of seated on it, Naoki had a plate of strawberry cake in front of him. Coming to the dining room had several benefits, not the least of which was the ease with which he could ignore most of the food groups when he didn't have to be reminded of them.

He looked up when Raidou entered and tilted his head, then raised his fork in a pseudo-wave. He didn't recognize Raidou, but he should make himself at home.]

[...

Raidou felt some change in the air in that one second before he saw the other boy. His gaze met Naoki's for a moment before he scrutinized all of the markings all over him and the glowing phenomenon he had.

He didn't step any farther into the room just yet. The feeling that washed over him was familiar and yet so foreign. It felt almost as if he had glimpsed the Dark Realm without actually being transported to it, almost as if it had been a dream, but it was too real to be so. He thought he knew this feeling, but he couldn't fully grasp it.

Thus he remained where he was, slightly more cautious than he would normally be back at home in Taisho 20, now that he was without his demons.]

[noreason]

[...What?

Naoki eyes him for a moment, then looks at his cake.]

Do you want some?

[xiv_kuzunoha]

[Why would he want any cake? The offer was kind enough, but Raidou was in no mood to eat cake right at this moment.

He finally did approach Naoki, still eying him though. He gestured toward Naoki, waiting for an explanation for all of his markings.]

[noreason]

[Naoki took in Raidou's gestures, eyeing him.]

...What?

[xiv_kuzunoha]

[Raidou continued to eye Naoki right back. He could tell, he thought, what was up with Naoki.]

You're a demon.

[noreason]

...Yeah?

[He takes a bite of cake while he waits for Raidou to go on. Because that is what menacing demons do.]

[xiv_kuzunoha]

[Raidou was tempted to use a kuda on the demon, but he decided against it. He hardly knew anything about this particular demon who glowed and looked human. All he knew now was that Naoki liked cake and didn't know how to sit properly in a chair.

All of a sudden though, a glass of water appeared on the table. Raidou had been thinking about one, and there it was. Like magic.

That was strange.]

[noreason]

[Naoki's eyes shifted to the glass of water, then back to Raidou.]

You can be more imaginative than that, right? Anything you want will appear.

[xiv_kuzunoha]

[Raidou shook his head. That was what he wanted for the moment.

He did sit down now across from Naoki since it didn't seem like Naoki was going anywhere and plus, he didn't want to waste the water.

Then he gestured over to the cake. Naoki could've been more imaginative than that too. But wasn't that what he wanted? Strawberry cake?]

[noreason]

[Naoki looked down at his cake, and took another bite before answering.]

I like strawberries.

[xiv_kuzunoha]

Not sake?

[Raidou took a drink of water. Strawberries? That wasn't all that far-fetched of like to have.]

[noreason]

Sake?

[That seemed like an odd thing to suggest.]

I've never had sake before.

[xiv_kuzunoha]

Sake makes demons loyal.

[Simple as that. Raidou didn't mind either way though if Naoki hadn't tried it. He had only been curious.]

[noreason]

...Huh.

[That was not what made demons loyal in his experience.]

That seems pretty specific. And convenient.

[xiv_kuzunoha]

It's useful in Taisho 20.

[Raidou didn't think Naoki was from there or else the Herald would've told him already about this... demon or part demon he was talking to right now.]

[noreason]

Taisho...

[He eyed Raidou for a moment, like Raidou might be trying to trick him.]

There's no such year as Taisho 20.

[xiv_kuzunoha]

[Yes, there is, and Raidou's look just confirmed it. Shows what you know, demon.]

[noreason]

[Naoki gets that they must be from different worlds, but they'll have to agree to disagree on this one.]

But you're from Japan. From what part?

[xiv_kuzunoha]

The Capital.

[That wasn't a lie either. Raidou had no reason to lie to him.]

[noreason]

So...Tokyo.

[Hmmm. What would it be like in Taisho 20?]

[xiv_kuzunoha]

[Raidou nodded, though they never called it that.]

You?

[noreason]

[Naoki nodded back and ate more cake.]

Tokyo.

[xiv_kuzunoha]

[Still. Raidou had never seen anything like Naoki before. His eyes looked Naoki up and down one more time.]
