Kidnapped you? [ Leslie scoffs dismissively. ] Why would I kidnap you? That - that's ridiculous. You're being ridiculous. [ He begins slamming the device against the desk again, and Leslie raises her voice to be heard over the noise, undeterred. ] Think about it, Ron! Why would I bring you somewhere that wasn't Pawnee? We have to stick together! Pawneeans of Wonderland unite! We have to look on the bright side, Ron - Ron?

[ Like he doesn't know that Leslie would kidnap him if there were a government function or a crackpot convention. She knows he tries to avoid those unless they have bacon-wrapped shrimp. She knows far, far too much about him.

Okay, so maybe she wouldn't kidnap him. She's far more likely to nag him until he gives in, if only for some peace and quiet, or she would move the government function to his office on the sly.

Maybe she didn't kidnap him. But then, how did he get here? ]

STOP.

[ He stills the comm and glares at Leslie. ]

Stop saying a name that may or may not be mine! On. A. Machine.

[ And then, with a glance around the room because he doesn't know where the communicator came from and who else might be watching. Why is Leslie saying his name so often? She should know better. This is his name, Leslie. His. Name. ]

But R-mmmghfs.

[ No. No, no. Leslie makes herself swallow the rest of his name before she can say it, pressing her lips together briefly and then sucking in an audible breath before continuing. ]

Okay, um, Mr...ummm...Mr...Mr. Potato Head!

[ It's the first thing that she came up with, okay. If he doesn't like it, she can always go back to Ron. ]

I didn't kidnap you. This is gonna be hard to believe, but it's true. I promise. And I'm not drunk, and I've had, like - less than half a cup of sugar today. [ So far. ] So it's true. And I know what I'm talking about.

We're in Wonderland.

[ He grumps when Leslie starts to say his name, relaxes when she doesn't, and then grumps harder at the replacement name.

Leslie. What the hell.

But she keeps talking, and Ron grumps harder.

By the time she says, "We're in Wonderland," Ron is grumping as hard as a grump can grump.

What the hell, Leslie?

Wonderland? The children's story?

He's just going to grump grumpily. ]

[ Leslie has experienced Ron's grumping every day single since she first started at the Parks Department. By now, she's used to it.

Of course, that doesn't mean she has to accept it.

She waits patiently to see if he's going to respond with any actual words, and when he doesn't, she helpfully fills in the silence herself. You're welcome, Ron.

Leslie sighs, sympathetically. ]

I know this is hard. I know it's not what you want to hear. But there are good things about Wonderland! [ She pauses, letting the anticipation draw out. Anticipation makes everything better. ]

Like...the endless supply of free breakfast food...

[ Oh, she's good. Not good enough to stop what some might refer to as a very quiet temper tantrum, but good. ]

JJ's is not in Wonderland.

[ And don't tell him that Wonderland's breakfast (Pfft. Wonderland. Sure.) can compare to JJ's. And Ron likes JJ's breakfast. It's the best. Why eat something that he knows isn't the best? ]

Tragically, no. It is not. Yet.

[ She's working on it. If Wonderland can pull Leslie here, why can't it bring JJ himself just as easily? And it should, especially now that Ron's here. Pawnee can get along for a while without JJ.

Leslie is another story. ]

But, in the meantime, imagine all the bacon you can eat. All of the bacon, Ron.

[ Yet? What, is she going to bring the entirety of JJ's Diner here?

As much as he wants to think it's ludicrous that she would even try, he also wouldn't put it past her. Leslie has always been persistent on her good days and more stubborn than a mule on her worst.

But then she keeps talking, and Ron forgets all thoughts about what plans she may or may not have. Because she's said something that is so much more important. Because she's said something that can't possibly be true. ]

All you can eat bacon. [ He briefly giggles, but only briefly, and then turns serious. ]

You've seen how much bacon I can eat. You really think there's any place that has all Ro- I can eat bacon?

[ Leslie. Come on. He thought you knew him. ]

[ Leslie just stares straight-faced at the camera. Even Ron's rare (though certainly not unprecedented) giggle isn't enough to make her crack a smile. She waits until he's finished expressing his disbelief before she speaks again. ]

Not "all you can eat," R-Tom Selleck.

[ She's already forgotten her fake name for him. ]

All anyone can eat. More than you can eat.

All of the bacon.
