[He is certainly wearing some fancyboy clothes. The wand on a lanyard around his neck really pulls the look together.]
And sometimes I wear a hat! Um, would you like to see my fingerprinting kit?
no subject
Yes!! Let's fingerprint everything!!!!!
no subject
What would you like to fingerprint first? We can, we can check the door handle maybe? There will be a lot of fingerprints there! Is there anything you would like to see where-- if it might have been touched or who might have touched it?
no subject
I think if we do the door handle, then we can see who went into the door, and then we can see what they touched in the room too!
[And then the MYSTERY WILL BE SOLVED.]

[Angus goes over to the door handle and is sure to show Greg the whole process as he sprinkles dust on it, brushes the excess away, and lifts a few prints with clear tape. He places the tape on a dark slide for viewing.]
Would you like to do a surface on the inside of the room? Remember, black powder for light surfaces, white powder for dark surfaces!
[He hands the kit to Greg. His turn.]
no subject
Black for light, white for dark. Black for light, white for dark.
[Greg looks around and decides on a drawer handle. The wood's really dark-- almost black --so it's easy enough to decide on the white powder. With a surprisingly delicate touch, he sprinkles the powder on and, soon enough, he's got a print!]
Is it the same? How do we tell?
no subject
Oh, you did a good job!
[He helps get it onto a dark slide so it can be seen better. He holds the two slides next to each other, comparing.]
Um, well, we just look at them really closely, and see if they look alike! What do you think, um, young man?
[Angus never got his name... whoops.]
no subject
......................
Welp.]
They just...look like little swirls.
no subject
Well, there are three main types of fingerprints. Some are only a little wavy, some have loops, and some swirl in a circle. So maybe we can start by matching types of fingerprints?
no subject
[Greg has literally never been this excited for school.]
no subject
[He looks intently at the two sets of fingerprints before he points out a pair.]
See, both of these have loops. But... they're in different places, so they're not the same fingerprint.
