[And that is also not a voice Rise had been expecting to hear. She was slightly disappointed in herself because she should've known to scope him out since she was famous for being and was just a bit boundary-challenged when it came to Souji.]

Souji-senpai! You're here too?

[Of course he was. But Rise was just too excited to see him.]

I'm in this room with a piano and a ton of other instruments! Are you going to come see me?

Yeah, I'm coming. Stay there for a couple minutes.

[He just needs to wash his hands, ditch the apron, and head downstairs. It takes him a few minutes to locate the music room, but he finds it and her as well. As he steps through the doorway, he's bracing for the onslaught.]

[And Souji was right to predict that the minute--no, the second--he stepped into the room, he already had a Rise hanging off of him.]

Hi, Senpai! So you're finally here to propose to me?

[Rise gave him her brightest smile, but it wasn't one of her idol smiles. It was genuine and really showed him that she cared for him, even if she were teasing him.]

...Well, it wasn't my plan just then.

[Souji looks down at her where she's standing beside him.]

Did you just get here?

[And why wasn't it in his plan? It should've been! But Rise could wait for when Souji would be proposing to her. Soon, she hoped!]

Long enough to get an idea of what's going on! Kanzeon's helping me to check everything out, but no exits so far.

[Sounds about right. He nods and moves further into the room so he can sit down on one end of the piano bench.]

What else have you noticed?

[Rise happily sat down next to Souji, but not too close. Even she sometimes, if boundary-challenged, knew when things were serious and when to give him space.]

Besides the something up with the other side of the mirrors? And there's about a hundred people here? Not that much more.

I wish I could see past those walls though. I keep having Kanzeon zoom in but they get farther away even when I get really close.

It's like that when you try to get up close in person, too. You're right about the mirrors, too.

[Her powers have never stopped being impressive.]

[Rise sighed, feeling a little deflated and defeated. Her hands were pressed against the seat of the piano bench while her feet swayed slightly underneath it.]

So what's the point of being here? Is is a test of some sort? They do realize this is nothing short of kidnapping, right?

[He sits in his normal slouched position, his head turned toward her as they talk.]

It's definitely kidnapping. This place steals our memories.

Steals our... But why?

[Souji wouldn't lie to her. But stealing memories?]

What does it do with them? Why does it want them at all? Those are ours!

I think it eats them.

[He doesn't know a better way to explain it than that.]

But it doesn't happen very often.

[Eats them? What?]

But it still does! That's not right. Everyone should be home where they belong.

I agree.

[He puts a hand over one of hers briefly to reassure her. He doesn't linger like that, though.]

Don't worry too much.

[Rise was so tempted to hang onto Souji's hand, but decided against it. She nodded.]

I'll try not to, Senpai, but no guarantees. I'll find a way to get us all out! I don't have Kanzeon for nothing!

[He can't help a small smile. Count on her to be positive about it.]

Let me show you around.

[Her reputation was on the line! But then she heard some magic words and immediately latched herself to Souji's arm.]

Really? You'd do that for me? I knew I liked you for a reason and being sweet was just one of them.

[Souji couldn't help a small, if slightly exasperated smile. He'd missed Rise.]

Let's go, then. [He got up, letting her hang onto his arm if she wanted to.]

[And definitely still hanging on! Her once in a lifetime chance to be personally escorted somewhere by Seta Souji all while she could hang off of him? Best ever.]

Oh, I know! I want to see your room! Can we, please?

Sure. [Souji let out a knowing breath.] It's up on the sixth floor.

[He led her toward the stairs so they could start up.]

Why that floor? There's plenty of other rooms on the lower floors.

[She started up the stairs with Souji, remembering to take a look around too and confirm what Kanzeon had seen.]

[He shrugs.] There wasn't any real reason. I just arrived on the sixth floor so I found a room there.

People just end up anywhere here, huh? We haven't figured out yet why any of us get picked to stay?

[Or leave?]

No. I can't tell if there's a pattern.

[This is why having a whole team--or a Naoto--is important when solving mysteries.]
