[Toby's used to preternaturally beautiful people. Considering how many Fae she's grown up around, really, beautiful just doesn't shake her in the way it might shake a full mortal. Hell, though she's kept her mortal disguise about the same even as the balance of her blood shifted further towards fae, she's probably starting to be that kind of beautiful herself. It's an unsettling thought.

But that kind of beauty shouldn't have that sort of immediate umph effect. She blinks, stopping where she stands, and bites the inside of her cheek hard enough that blood fills her mouth. It clears her head, like the taste of blood always does, and lets her get a better sense of the man and the balance of his blood.

It's... not anything she recognizes, which would be weird if she wasn't already getting used to Wonderland.]

Uh. [Right. Star Wars references.] Probably not gonna find the droids you're looking for?

[Look, he's not even projecting his allure like he could. He's hungry, certainly, but he's still at the point that he can control it.

However, she's lovely but she doesn't feel human. His gray-blue eyes sweep over her and he tries to smile again.]

It's a shame. There's not a lot to do on Tatooine, I've heard. I suppose we should go check out the locals then.

That might be tricky. [Since she's still not sure if anyone's local.] Who are you? [And what?]

How so? You've appeared, haven't you? It doesn't look like it's improbable at all.

[They don't have to have originated from Wonderland, after all.]

My name is Thomas Raith. You? [Wouldn't you like to know?]

Toby Daye. [Name doesn't ring a bell any more than the rest of it did. She opens her mouth slightly, trying to get a read on his blood. Not because she expects to recognize it, but next time, she knows she will.

But he definitely not human. That opens some options.]

Sooo you're not a mortal.

[He's unfamiliar with her as well. He'd remember a cute girl like her, despite the fact that he's surrounded by supernatural beauty on near constant basis. When they smell different from a normal doe, he has to pay some attention, after all.]

That's so rude, but I could say the same to you.

Sure I am. On my dad's side, anyway. [She lets her disguise fade in a burst of magic that smells like copper and cut grass, revealing pointed ears and inhumanly high cheekbones.] And on my mother's side? Dochas Sidhe.

[He lets out a huff of breath. Of course. Of fucking course. Harry's luck is so passing onto him that it's not even funny at this point.]

A Changeling. And no wizard in sight. Imagine that.

[His eyes flicker from blue to blue silver to pewter as he calls upon his Demon momentarily. The sated beast is okay with making an appearance, so it doesn't take much for him to wrestle it back into its cage.]

Since fair is fair, Changeling, I'm a vampire of the White Court. House Raith, if you know anything about it.

You did hear the part where I have a name, right? Toby. Not Changeling.

[She gives him a skeptical look.]

A vampire. And you're expecting to see a wizard. Did I just step into a Dungeons and Dragons game?

Ah, yes, forgive me, Toby.

[He doesn't even try, but he can't help put extra emphasis on her name. It's natural. At least while he's even a little Hungry. The beast must stay sated, even though he's fighting to keep it under wraps.]

I'm not into that fantasy bullshit. [He shrugs. This isn't even the half of what they deal with back in Chi-Town.] I've got my hands filled with real life.

[She raises an eyebrow.]

You don't seem to be having a problem with the sun.

[A changeling that didn't know anything about the way vampires worked. Relying on that damn book by Bram Stoker for everything she thinks about the supernatural, probably.]

I see you missed the part where I said White Court. That sun bullshit only works on the Red and the Blacks. The sun doesn't even give me a tan.
