Even the clothes he's dressed in scream NOT NORMAL. Of course, the armor's probably not the biggest putoff, it might be the rest of the way he looks. The stripes, the pointed ears, the fangs...the giant fur draping down his shoulders and back and touching the ground.
Either way, the youkai turns his attention from the architecture and to the small child who had addressed him, smiling. He'd known the boy was approaching. He could smell him.
He wonders internally what manner of youkai this one was, but he's not going to lead with that.]

There's really nothing wrong with the candles themselves. It is the scent they emanate. It could become irksome to those with heightened senses, don't you think?

Yeah, I just got here a few days ago. And it's really confusing so far.
[It's a place where time is stopped, it brings dead siblings back to life, and has apparently kidnapped a good handful of people from the Underground.]

Nor do I. I would enjoy a proper explanation, but that's rarely something that confused parties are ever afforded, so I'll take what little information I can get.
[He's hundreds of years old. Very little jars him anymore, and even if it did, he's got no life to go back to. He's as good as dead, and he knows that. He remembers...how he died. Slowly bleeding out and succumbing to grievous injuries.
...Everything would be fine back home. This is just another experience for him and him alone.]
