[Georgia has not spent much time around the vendors. They creep her out, and there's nothing she wants badly enough to give up a memory. Nothing they can provide, anyway.

She's here today mostly because, well, she saw a woman with antennae moving towards them, and she's good enough at faces to know she hasn't seen her before. While she doesn't know everyone in Wonderland, she does pay attention, and she'd know if anyone with antennae was here before. This woman's new.

And crashing into her. Great. She wrinkles her nose under her sunglasses and takes a step back, kneeling to help pick some of it up.]

This isn't a good place to be. Has anyone told you about the Vendors yet? What they use as currency?

[uglybug]

[The sound Mantis makes as she crouches to help pick things up again is some strange hybrid of a squeak and a moan, but her chagrin is evident. (Even her antennae are drooping.)

She stills, though, at the question and looks over her shoulder at the vendor.] Oh? No, I-- [--she holds the thing she just picked up -- some odd device, roughly cylindrical, that she has no name for -- gingerly, away from her a bit in alarm--] No, I do not know anything about them. It just looked interesting. Have I made a mistake?

Not yet, I hope. [She places items down and shoots the nearest vendor a glare.]

They take your memories. Whatever it is you want can't be worth that.

[uglybug]

Oh. [And she stands and quickly pushes the wares back onto the stand -- even backs away a few steps to show that she has absolutely no intention of buying anything.] I will keep my memories, thank you. I like them where they are.

Thought you might. [Most people do. Georgia doesn't even love all her memories, but she still wouldn't trade them away. They're too... integral to her.]

Georgia Mason, by the way. You're new, I take it?

[uglybug]

I am new. [Her smile is a little too awkward, too forced, but it's honestly better than it was.] I am Mantis. Hello.

Mantis. [She mostly manages to keep her skepticism out of her voice but, well, it's a little on the nose for a woman with antennae.] Where are you from? [Cause she's doubting the answer is Earth.]

[uglybug]

[Well, she was named by a guy who was a bit enamored of quaint earth things, so... perhaps her name is not that weird, once that's taken into account.] Oh, I do not know where my home planet is. [There's absolutely no sadness here; it's matter-of-fact.] I lived on Ego's planet for most of my life. I suppose that counts as being from there.

[That... shouldn't mean anything, except she's talked to Rocket enough that, well, she actually does know the name Ego.]
