[Even away from his family, away from the politics and the sick power plays that went on between what was left of the Courts, he doesn't feel safe. Can't take the chance to relax and let himself enjoy things yet. Not without definitive proof.

And yet he knows that he can't last out against her. For one, he doesn't want to. The last few years have been hard, emotionally as well as physically. He tried to explain it to Harry and at one point he thought he'd gotten through to his brother the constant, overwhelming thirst that plagued his every step.

A man dying of thirst next to an oasis because he couldn't trust himself not to overindulge the monster within. Ridiculous but nonetheless true. And yet he can feel the hunger build up. Well-fed he might be as of late, but he hasn't fed since arriving here.

And the damn burns on his hand hurt like hell. Keep him grounded.]

There are consequences, Justine.

[He touches her back with his unburned hand, feeling the heat wafting off her skin through the thin fabric of her shirt. It still feels like he's burning. His words don't even sound convincing to him, not with the way he can barely look at her without it hurting them both because of the longing.]

Lara's right. I'm a fool.

[Justine loves Thomas. It goes unsaid but she feels it twisting beneath her breastbone fueling her worry and pain. He can't not feed and while it isn't a perfect solution she knows that it'll help him. If she can make it so her touch doesn't burn him, he can feed on her. She trusts him and knows him. He won't take too much. What he is doing now will only make it harder for him.

She dislikes going behind Thomas's back but if it's for his sake, for his health, she'll try. Justine knows that she can lure him in. She knows Thomas just as well as she knows herself.

Her lips part but before she's able to speak she feels his hand pressing against her back. They were both fools.]

I will take those consequences Thomas.
