[ unfortunately, while hg wells is something of a contemporary of his, doc "died" before the man managed to publish anything of worth — least of all anything that would reach him way the hell out west. ]

And what exactly is an HG Wells sense supposed to be?

The Victorians do have something of a keen eye for fashion.

[ doc may not be from victorian england himself, but he grew up during that period. he had a classical upbringing ripe with victorian sensibilities. and their style of dress directly influenced that which women wore out west. ]
