MAY/JUNE TEST DRIVE MEME
Welcome to the EWAY TDM!

Prompt A: Serious Event

Hellhounds are coming for a visit! For the first day of the event, residents will hear crazy howling coming from the direction of the forest, but it's off in the distance. If anyone investigates, they won't be able to find the source of the howling.

On the morning of the second day, the hounds approach the mansion. They are invisible, only able to be seen by demons, but they can certainly be heard by their growls, snarls, and barking. They aren't the most delicate of beasts, so there will be plenty of broken furniture and doors as they charge around inside the Mansion.

Hellhounds take no prisoners. They attack viciously and woe betide those who end up in the same room as one. A death by hellhound is nasty and probably slightly traumatizing, if remembered. Here is what one would expect when a hellhound comes near.

There are defenses against them: lining plenty of salt along doorways and windows, or even standing in a circle of it can keep them at bay. They can also be blown to high heaven, if one can rig up a bomb big enough. Barring a door very well can also help, but hellhounds are strong and tenacious, so they'll eventually break it down. They just won't stop once they have someone's scent.

Prompt B: Lighter Event

This event is bringing movies to life! For each character, there will be one movie represented in the mansion in some way. This will most likely be either a setting change (where part of the setting just shows up on the grounds or inside), the sudden appearance of creatures or animals (because everyone needs velociraptors running around), or the general themes of the movie affecting the population (like some mysterious American Pie rooms on the second floor that make people want to lose their virginity before their high school graduation).

How do you decide which movie your character would bring to the mansion? Well, one of two ways. The first is that if your character is from a canon where they would have watched movies, then you would pick something that they have seen. Movies that only exist in their canon are 100% okay to inflict on the mansion. The second is that if your character is from the past/a mystical magical movieless land/just doesn't care about movies, then you're free to pick any movie you want to add to the mix. Movies that they have seen in the mansion are also okay to use, if you would prefer.

For the characters who are film buffs, big fans of a movie, or just plain watch too many movies, this event will go one step further. These characters will think that they are actually a part of whatever movie the mansion brought to the event on their behalf. They will take on one of the character roles from this movie and thoroughly believe that they are really this character. Being plucked out of their movie will not phase them too much – they will be trying to stick to the general plot of their movie as much as possible. They will gain or lose abilities based on who they think they are (someone from Star Wars might be able to use a lightsaber, but if they were a wizard before they wouldn't be able to use their wand for this event), and their personality will change accordingly, but there will still be traces of who they really are underneath. Little details that don't quite match, like certain phobias or their annoying habit of whistling too much. Of course, their friends who don't have any interest at all in movies will be thoroughly confused and probably try to snap them out of their craziness, but that most likely won't be easy. They're busy! They have to go blow up the Death Star! Or find their son Nemo! Or stop the aliens from stealing all their women and gold!

Prompt C: ediS rorriM

The mirror side is Queen-less. Or so it appears. How do the mirrors cope with this new turn events, what do they do? What does it mean to be a mirror? Feel free to have your mirrors contemplate it together, or reach out to their real counterparts by writing on mirrors to communicate.

Prompt D: Choices

Any scenario goes! Thread out your character's arrival, have them act like a long-established resident, let our past events inspire your scene, or write up literally any Wonderland-based scenario you feel like playing with.

MARCH/APRIL TEST DRIVE MEME
Welcome to the EWAY TDM!

Prompt A: Serious Event

When most of the characters awake, they will be greeted with a pounding headache, ringing ears, and fuzzy recollections of the night before. They’ll be fairly sure they weren’t out in a tent in the desert in the middle of no where though. It won’t be long though, before they are handed a uniform. Welcome to the French Foreign Legion!

For those who aren't so familiar, the residents of the mansion are now in what appears to be Africa, right smack in the middle of an endless desert. Hey, wasn’t there a nice ocean when you first got here? Gardens? A forest? Nope. Just sand, everywhere, except for the tent city that makes up the area where the mansion used to be. It’s really hot during the day, and really cold at night. The tent that was once the dining hall is serving only beans and sardines, out of cans. The vendors have remained, though they seem to be running something of a black market. Bullets will be going off in the middle of the night, and your character will quickly learn that a cry of "aux armes!" is meant to warn them to their feet.

Now, what about the characters that don’t fall into “most”? Why, who do you think is passing out these uniforms and calling "aux armes"? Any character with a military background (or magical army background, or what have you, you strange fandoms), if the mun so chooses, can be an established French Foreign Legion member. Ranks will roughly correspond to whatever rank the character had back home. No magic though, their weapons are sabers and WWI-era rifles. Their jobs will vary from passing out uniforms, to instruct new recruits, to prevent anyone from escaping. Oh, did we forget that part? If your character decides they don’t like the Legion and try to take off into the desert, not only are they not going to get far at all, but they’ll be perused by members of the Legion. Disobedience of any kind is harsh and brutal, but at least you’re not in with the third group of characters. That would be with the prisoners of war, which is where any character who’s fought against the French Foreign Legion will be held. This might also apply to some other military characters (like if you feel it would be really out of character for them to be in another army instead of their own). Both of these (established Legion members and POWs) are optional though – you’re just as welcome to make our character a brand new recruit.

So, to recap: your character is either a) a brand new recruit b) an established Legion member or c) a POW for a few days, and no one has magic powers.

Prompt B: Lighter Event

Characters will suddenly find themselves ten years older or younger. This can be physically, mentally, or both, i.e., if your character is 20 years old right now, they may become 10 physically but still have the mind and memories of their 20-year-old self, or they may revert to the mentality of their 10-year-old self and lose all the memories they have of being older. If you age your character up and there is no canon for them ten years in the future, they may just look and/or act older, but not have new memories.

For characters over 200 years old: you may choose to age your character by a century, as ten years isn't that long for them.

Prompt C: ediS rorriM

For this prompt, the White Queen has lowered the barrier between real and mirror side in the hopes both sides will be able to mingle peacefully. Have your reals explore the mirror side and interact with other mirrors, or have the mirrors cross over to the real side and explore. This is your chance to test out your mirror’s voice with no limitations!

Prompt D: Choices

Any scenario goes! Thread out your character's arrival, have them act like a long-established resident, let our past events inspire your scene, or write up literally any Wonderland-based scenario you feel like playing with.

JANUARY/FEBRUARY TEST DRIVE MEME
Welcome to the first TDM of 2019!

Prompt A: Serious Event

Everybody in the mansion has lost their heart for a day. This doesn't render them totally emotionless, but any emotion that is not self-involved becomes very, very difficult to express. Characters become selfish and spiteful, caring only for what they want, and not for anyone else's wishes. They will hurt others if it suits them, finding it difficult or too bothersome to decide between right and wrong, and everyone is just that little bit more immature, prone to tantrums and sulking when they don't get their way.

Characters will not be aware that their behavior has changed, but they will feel an aching emptiness inside, like something is missing.

Prompt B: Lighter Event

For this event, characters have turned into an animal that best represents their personality. Sort of like a Patronus from Harry Potter, but they have actually turned into the animal. Whether or not they can talk is up to the player, but they will exhibit all instincts and habits of that animal. Feel free to play that part out or the aftermath of having been, for example, a sloth for 2 days.

Prompt C: ediS rorriM

Use this prompt to test out your mirrors. Are they loyal to the new White Queen or do they think she's too good to be true? Do they long to cross over or spend their days tormenting reals? Are they disturbed by the idea that the Queen is literally black and grey and not in color? Whatever the scenario, know that the Queen is watching, and let that guide you - or not.

Prompt D: Choices

Any scenario goes! Thread out your character's arrival, have them act like a long-established resident, let our past events inspire your scene, or write up literally any Wonderland-based scenario you feel like playing with.

NOVEMBER/DECEMBER TEST DRIVE MEME
Here I go, here I go, here I go again. Girl what's my weakness? EMOTIONAL TAGS!!!

Prompt A: Serious Event

The truth, no matter how horrible, always comes out. For this event, there is no way to lie when asked a direct question. Of course, the questions can be relatively innocent (Do you really like my cooking?) or you could go for what you really want to know deep down. The thing that keeps you up at night. But be careful: once you know the truth, you might not like where it leads.

Prompt B: Lighter Event

Big or small.

Around the mansion are baskets of baked treats. They look innocent enough with a hand-scripted card that says Please Enjoy in nice, perfect cursive. If you happen to eat a regular sugar cookie, you will find your surroundings getting so much taller somehow. Eat a chocolate chip cookie and suddenly the mansion is much too small for you. For those of you who do enjoy the oatmeal raisin variety you're in luck! You get to fly.

The effects of the cookies last approximately five hours and then you'll be back to normal, no worse for wear.

Prompt C: ediS rorriM

Use this prompt to test out your mirrors. Are they loyal to the new White Queen or do they think she's too good to be true? Do they long to cross over or spend their days tormenting reals? Whatever the scenario, know that the Queen is watching, and let that guide you - or not.

SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER TEST DRIVE MEME
It's Chinese for 'Japan.'

Prompt A: Serious Event

A memory is displayed. It's yours, the most traumatic of your life whether it was a terrifying clown encounter or the death of someone you love. It's on a loop for everyone to see. You can enter the memory and take your own place, but no matter how hard you try, you cannot alter the outcome. You're forced to try in vain to change what happened or watch until you decide it's too much and walk away. If you can.

Prompt B: Lighter Event

Welcome to Storybrooke.

You've lived in a quiet town in Maine for as long as you can remember. You are a fishmonger or a diner employee, perhaps you work at the hospital. Whatever you do and whoever you are, it's not the real you. You are cursed and you know no other life outside of Storybrooke.

When the curse breaks (either from True Love's Kiss or, in a more TDM friendly, handwaved way), you have two sets of memories: who you were, and who you are. Do you choose to accept all that you were cursed to believe, or would you rather slip back into your old life? The choice is yours.

JULY/AUGUST TEST DRIVE MEME
You're like an angel with no wings.

Prompt A: Serious Event

In each trip a character makes from their room, they will have one random encounter with a monster (or monsters) that will attack them. Fight, team up with others, run away if you think you can, but there are monsters. Everywhere.

Prompt B: Lighter Event

The mansion is gone and now we're all camping! Women on one side of the camp and men on the other with a large picnic area in between. It's like summer camp except there are no counselors. You are in charge of making your own food and fun. If you wander too far out in the woods, you'll just get lost and wind up at the campsite again. Make s'mores! Tell spooky stories! Have fun!
Prompt C: ediS rorriM

Peace has been restored to the mirror side with the White Queen ruling, but she does have a request: get to know one another, dear mirrors. She's hosting a 1990s dance party and you're all invited. Jam out to Spice Girls and mingle.

MAY/JUNE TEST DRIVE MEME
Let's get down to business.

Prompt A: Serious Event

For this event, your worst fear will play on a loop for anyone and everyone to see. It could be serious: death, loneliness, losing something important, or a fear of clowns, pickles, or bunnies. The only way to stop the endless loop is to conquer your fear with the help of someone else.

Prompt B: Lighter Event

Did you eat the candy in the bowls downstairs? Soon you won't be able to stop spewing compliments and words of encouragement to people, even those you don't know. You have endless cheer and good spirits, even if you're the dourest of people. Don't worry - it'll wear off within an hour.

Prompt C: ediS rorriM

MARCH/APRIL TEST DRIVE MEME
Let's blow some tiny minds.

Prompt A: Serious Event

For this event, if your character has ever died, whether it was at home or in Wonderland, they will begin to experience unusual side effects. Their death has left their minds open to manipulation by dark forces, and everyone will have different experiences depending on what abilities or skills they would normally rely on. (If they rely on magic, they will lose the ability to control their powers. If they have a special skill set, consider it worthless.) These experiences will only get worse and worse as the event goes on. The only way to ease these ill effects is for them to find their anchor – a person who grounds the affected character to reality.

Prompt B: Lighter Event

You touched it. You touched the nest egg didn't you? Congratulations, now you're a puppet or some other children's cartoon archetpe for 24 hours. You could be the Sesame Street variety, ever so helpful and nice (or Grouchy) or you might be Dora the Explorer-esque, waiting for someone to answer your question while you stare into the void.

Prompt C: ediS rorriM

The Queen has (allegedly) had an item of importance stolen from her: A heart shaped paper weight. Find it and return it and she just might show you her favor. You want that, don't you? It doesn't matter how much or what kind of affection she might shower on you. Steal from another mirror if you must, just be the one to return that jewel.
