DARYL IS GREAT, he cracks me up so hard, and I just think his voice and motivations are spot on. I know he's pretty anti-social, but I'd love to see him come out more! I think it'd also be interesting if he could maybe find another character sort of like Carol? Who makes him want to do good things/be a real part of the group, etc. Just to see how it'd work in Wonderland, I mean. But yes, good job! <3

Man, that is something I want like burning. That's like the one thing I feel like I'm lacking at eway, and that's a strong lady connection. Not necessarily a romantic one, but there's an interview where Norman said he thinks Daryl would open up to a woman before he would a man and I subscribe to that newsletter 900%.

He was headed that way with Ruby and so I feel like he's a little reluctant to go there again... For the time being he's got the resistance going for him but hooopefully I can work something else in there. Because I agree, that's one of my fav aspects of the character and I feel like I'm not doing it 100% justice.

since I can't just have heavy breathing as a comment I'll try to give some actual coherent feedback

Characterization-wise I think Daryl is spot-on. He's crabby and kinda a loner and you acknowledge his not-so-politcally-correct mindset (which yeah time with the group has made him better but it's hard to reverse a lifetime of Merle), but he also has the good in him that makes him such an appealing character.

Writing-wise I love that you really get into a groove of having his voice come through even in third person narrative. It really brings life to your tags and helps bring out the core of Daryl's personality even more.

IN CONCLUSION

I try really, really hard not to neuter him as far as the upbringing is concerned. He's a good person but you're right- completely escaping that mindset isn't really possible, at least not quickly. I try to have his actions speak louder than what may or may not be going on in his head, though.

I think you do a good job with that! To me it comes off as a character flaw that shows where he's been in life, but not one that defines him as a person and makes him a more well-rounded, intriguing character.

Oh man, Daryl. ♥ I haven't seen The Walking Dead, but I feel like I know the character from having read your posts and threaded with you. You do such a wonderful job of making it clear how crabby he is, and his posts make me laugh out loud sometimes. I still laugh to myself when I think back to that post he made where he was freaking out about the cameras out in the forest.

But what I also really wanted to say is that I admire the fact that you're able to play a somewhat anti-social character. I know how difficult that can be, especially in a network game, yet you strike the right balance of having him get involved vs. having him stay out of things. It's great!

And dude, seriously, thank you ;___; It's like pulling teeth with him sometimes because he really just... Doesn't wanna be out there. But god dammit Daryl, I am the boss of you and you're gonna do what I say. :| That's part of the reason I wanted to pick up another character here, just so I can get involved with different types of characters and events. Daryl keeps to himself so much that I feel like I miss things... But I'm not willing to sacrifice being IC to hop into all of the shenans. 8'D It's a hard life being such a hermit, lemme tell you...

Yeah, I totally know how you feel! I would have a hard time playing just Castiel at a game, since he's not super social either, which is why it's great to have Martha around because she wants to be friends with everyone.

I love Daryl and you are a joy to talk to OOC as well. I wish I could add more about him as a character but HAHAH I KEEP FORGETTING TO WATCH THE SHOW so there's that. But as a player you are very reasonable in your tagging times, I feel, and I have never had an issue with playing off your dude, so. There is. Also that.
