I. Welcome to Wonderland! Seconds ago you were surrounded by the things you know, but now you may find yourself standing on a strange beach. And you may find yourself in another part of another world. And you may find yourself within the shadow of a large mansion. And you may find yourself in a beautiful room, with a completely useless introductory brochure. And you may ask yourself: Well... how did I get here? II. Lose yourself to find yourself It's another day in Wonderland, and another event has come around. For its duration everyone has been turned into a stereotypical ghost. Disembodiment, translucency, and all it entails! Have fun moving through objects and walls, because actually touching a door (or interacting with any other physical objects for that matter)? Not going to happen. III. Mirror, Mirror, On The March Aren't you excited? Aren't you thrilled? The Queen of Hearts has chosen you amongst a mere handful, and sent you off to the other side. Whether you infiltrate quietly, or barge in boldly is entirely up to you. Her Majesty has faith in your skill, she knows you will retrieve her treasured Shield from that bothersome Red Queen and her hideous Reals. You will, won't you? You really mustn't disappoint your Queen, or else... OR ELSE. IV. Wildcard Play out your character's arrival. Celebrate their anniversary. Choose a different event to experience. Do anything and everything you like! |

And troubled. Everyone was troubled when they arrived here )
The books aren't going to just disappear.
( Or she coupd take them back to her room with her. If she had one - had she done that yet? )

Oh, sorry, I-- [ She shakes her head a bit to clear it. She was so into things she nearly thought Madam Pince had walked up to shoo her out. Maybe that's a sign she's been in here too long. ] They...might?
[ She's no stranger to books doing strange things. She distinctly remembers one in Hogwarts's library trying to smack her when she picked it up. (Then again, it was titled How Best to Surprise Your Enemies.) So she wouldn't put it past these books to try doing something similar, as full of magic as this place was.
Hermione returns her attention to the book in her hands. Well, half her attention. She's trying to be polite and give some attention to the girl who's just walked up, but this book has drawn her in too deeply. ]
Hello, by the winter. [ Slight pause. She was so busy reading that she said a word she just recently read instead of what she meant to say. ] Way, I mean. By the way.
[ She sighs at herself, forcing herself to lower the book. ] Hermione Granger. It's nice to meet you.

( They might possibly disappear during an event but Lydia expected that they would be back after it - maybe with more new additions. As a future librarian protege she is highly versed in the library. Frequent visitor membership holder )
I'm Lydia.
( And, without asking, Lydia sits herself down in the seat opposite from Hermione, tilting her head to try and see what she's reading, although the girl has it too well covered )
How long have you been here?
no subject
[ Hermione ponders that for a while, nearly forgetting she has a guest. What an interesting library this is!
Oh right, questions. She lowers her book slightly. ]
Oh, I, well. I only just recently arrived. Bit overwhelming, isn't it?

( Lydia could remember how it had felt when she'd arrived, and although she'd not found it as easy to accept when she'd arrived as she would have done if she'd been in the know about 'strange' things that possibly made it all the more overwhelming. So she definitely understood how long Hermione felt )
But if you're looking for answers in these books about this place you won't find any. It's what everyone tries. I could point you to Alice in Wonderland, it's the closest thing to an answer you'll get.
( But also confusing just on it's own )
Unless you're looking for something else.
