[ that does make jane chuckle, and she slowly and carefully gets to her feet while making sure no more yelping comes from an accidentally-squished pooch. she already feels bad about that one before that we're not talking about. ]

Kind of. Can you sit? I can walk you through just a few rudimentary experiments, and keep the puppies away from the work area. I just need a few test results from in here.

[ and even though raven hasn't answered, jane seems to be making her way toward the girl. ]

( Raven doesn't reply but she does shrug one of her crutches from her, moving it to her other hand as she presses a hand on the banister, slowly lowering herself to sit on the steps. It gets a little tricky when she runs out of arm length but thankfully the drop isn't that far, just a small bump down )

Alright, but they're probably going to get prodded.

( She can try and use a crutch as a barrier to keep some of them from wandering away. It might end up with poked pooch. And maybe she can wrangle a sandwich from Jane afterwards. She did stop and help )

I think they can handle it -- they just started piling in after I got here. I fell asleep last night working on something else, and when I woke up I thought I'd gone colorblind.

[ jane moves to help clear a path in the animals and let raven through. they seem relatively durable, considering that she just toes a few out of the way. one little guy keeps trying to follow so jane just scoops him up and brings him along with her. ]

When it turned out it was affecting everyone, I figured the first place to start is to see if we can refract the spectra and determine whether this affects the way light is filtered or our eyes. Since I'm not a biologist, I figured a quick and dirty spectroscope couldn't hurt.

[radioing]

You fell asleep out here? And I thought people would think I was weird for sleeping outside.

( Well to be fair Raven would have been camping. That's infinitely less weird than sleeping in a hallway. Or working so hard you fall asleep on your work. Or a dog )

You know I could probably help you build the thing. Might be more use than dog herding.
