Spike | BtVS/AtS
The nice thing about having unlimited access to absolutely anything is that you can try out foods you otherwise wouldn't be able to try out, and waste isn't really a problem. Which is how we get to our current situation: Spike lining up a bunch of mugs, each filled with different sorts of blood that to the untrained eye/nose might seem exactly the same, but he can tell are entirely different. Different animals, different spices, different blood types... you name it. If he's going to be stuck in Wonderland, he's going to make the most of it, and right now? That means expanding his palate.
He picks up one of the mugs, sips at it delicately, tilts his head, smacking his lips, then takes another sip.]
Huh. Not bad.
[He pulls off the piece of paper he's got taped to the bottom, looks at it, and raises his eyebrow. Skunk.]
Make that surprisingly not bad.
Ben Wyatt | Parks and Rec
This is why he likes Game of Thrones so much. There's a fantasy series that actually takes finances into account. Wonderland could learn a thing of two from Game of Thrones.
Today, he's decided to use his copious free time to set up a Cones of Dunshire game in one of the tea rooms. He's pretty sure he can set up some new twists, and there has to be someone around here that wants to play with him. After all, everyone has so much free time. What better way to use it than to learn and play extremely complicated board games?
Man, he really misses his job.]
gently touches
It's plausible the two haven't encountered one another; Dany doesn't go out of her way to meet people in Wonderland and rarely uses the network, frustrating as it is. But every so often, she'll venture into one of the tea rooms to meet with Lady Sansa or another of her friends, tiny dragon perched on her shoulder or wandering around elsewhere, but always in sight, always nearby. Today is no exception; the silver queen enters without fanfare, moving to sit at one of the tables, untroubled by the presence of anyone else.
Well. Until Aeryn gets bored of waiting and sitting and uses his little wings to propel himself onto the table that Ben's set up his game. ]
That isn't food. [ She chides, because the dragon nabs one of the pieces in his mouth. ] We need to find a way for you to grow; I will not spend this much time finding you food, I absolutely cannot.
no subject
[But his words die in his mouth as he turns around and sees exactly what had eaten one of his cones, and more than that, who exactly the dragon is with.
And it's saying a lot when seeing an actual dragon is not even the coolest thing happening right now. I mean dragons are cool, but come on. Any idiot can see that's not Drogon, Viserion, or Rhaegal. The woman he's with, however..... silver hair, purple eyes.... those are Targaryen features, and that face, that queenly bearing.
Ben is staring. His mouth has dropped open and he is staring. He's been waiting his entire life for this moment even though he also always assumed it was impossible and he's staring like an idiot.
He closes his mouth and sweeps into a deep bow.] Khaleesi.

Isabela | Dragon Age II
The most important thing about this place- whatever this place was- was the ship that was docked in the ocean. Sure she heard the locals; they couldn't leave, if you swim out too far you just drown and wake up in your room, blah, blah, blah. She didn't care about all that. If they were right and she couldn't leave at least she would have a ship again. Being land locked for so long had made her soft, made her go back for Hawke when she could have been leagues away from Kirkwall. But he had saved her, the bastard, and she couldn't really regret it. She could say she did, but that would be a lie, not that anyone needed to know that.
Even if the ship couldn't go anywhere she would be much more comfortable on that then in that giant mansion. She wondered who she was going to have to
killfight to get it.B. Bar
Well if definitely wasn't The Hanged Man. Which was probably a good thing, but it didn't feel like home. There was something about that seedy old Lowtown bar that Isabela actually missed. Maybe it was that everyone knew her there, and respected her, or if they didn't they would find themselves on the other end of her blades. If definitely wasn't the alcohol, she mused as she took a sip of the whiskey she had ordered. If this place had anything going for it then it was definitely the quality of the alcohol, she could get used to that.
Beach.
And then she gets to where she was directed and yes, it is a ship.
As in a boat. For water.
"Oh, come on!"
Shepard makes a frustrated gesture at the ship to no one in particular.

Maric Theirin - Dragon Age: The Stolen Throne
This looks nothing like the dirty ruins of a besieged seaside village. For one thing, the stench of fish and rotting corpses is conspicuously absent. It's quiet here; it would be almost pleasant if Maric weren't alone, unarmed, and seemingly miles away from the legions of Orlesian chevaliers set to descend on the hapless Rebel army...well, now, actually.
His rebel army.
Maric grimaces. Loghain isn't going to be very happy. As soon as he and Rowan realize Maric's gone, they'll throw the whole plan out the window to launch a rescue and the army will lose the element of surprise. It'll be a blood bath.
All because Maric the Idiot managed to get himself kidnapped without realizing it. Typical, really.
Luckily(?), his captors don't seem to be guarding him very well. If this is Denerim (and if it is, the Orlesians have really outdone themselves; this doesn't look at all like Ferelden) and he's off to be paraded in front of the Usurper, why isn't he in chains? Or in a dungeon, for that matter? Dungeons are usually the way this kind of thing goes, right?]
Well done, Maric. Excellent stewardship of your mother's cause.

But it isn't Alistair. In fact, she doesn't recognize the man at all, when she approaches, moving carefully. Robyn has been warned of the dangers of the mansion, of Wonderland at large, how it twists their memories and fears with its magic. But... ]
Excuse me. [ She smiles slowly, maintaining a distance; he'll recognize her accent as Ferelden, but if that doesn't give it away, there is a dog trotting behind her that he will absolutely pick up on. ] Do you need any help?
[ He seems confused, really, and she can't shake the feeling that he looks... well, familiar, if not oddly similar to the man she loves. ]
no subject
He decided to play it safe. He gives the woman what he hopes is a disarming smile (he knows from long experience that Ferelden's women are just as lethal as Ferelden's men), with no way of knowing that the expression is also one he will pass down to both of his children many years in the future.]
Right. Hello. I seem to be a bit turned around. If you could just direct me to...
[Where? The palace? Bit premature, really, since the Orelesian still sits on the throne that should have been his mother's and is technically his by rights. The city gates? Gwaren?]
...I'm not entirely sure, come to think of it. Lovely hound, by the way. What's his name?

Commander Shepard | Mass Effect
In fact, she had not expected to wake up at all.
However, now she was very much awake, sorely missing a supply of military grade stimulants, and apparently stuck in an ancient Earth storybook.
It said something about her life that she was not certain if this was the strangest thing that had ever happened to her or not.
At least the food was free. Shepard was currently poking at the microwave, trying to make it give her a preferably warm food-like substance. Everything in this place was so low-tech it was maddening. The microwave did not even understand voice commands. She actually had to press buttons. With her finger. ]
I did not die for this.
The Jabberwocky | Once Upon a Time in Wonderland
This is a fun version of Wonderland.
So few pretty colors.
So many...moments. Everyone is so afraid in waves and pulses and shining moments. She doesn't even need to kill to feed. There is the basking glow of horror and despair, the ones who tremble make her strong.
Oh yes.
She. Will. Enjoy it. Here. In this upside down and backwards old-new version of a place that has seen terror not even Jafar could conjure. No, this is a beautiful cacophony of terror. And she can pretend to be another normal, fearful, weak and trembling citizen until the time comes when she is free to indulge in more than just the residual stench.
Lounging in the garden along a brick bench, one leg is kicked in the air as she hums a song to herself. But when footsteps approach she stops, turning her head to look. And then she begins to sing the poem.]
Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
[She watches all the while, waiting to see if any alarm rises from her new friend joining her in the pleasant sun.]

Jane! Oh my god, you're actually back!
[Aaaaaaaaaaaand guess who doesn't care about the readings right now. Instead she sloshes through the water and embraces her friend, almost like she hadn't seen her in 3 months and approximately 21 days...]
You have no idea how much I've missed you.

Today there seems to be something even more difficult than stairs. As Raven's trying to cross the hall, making her way from the stairs across to the kitchen she finds her path blocked - or at least a path blocked to someone who needs careful navigation. There is a pile of puppies in the middle of the floor, and even more just milling around - running, rolling, doing everything possible to stop Raven being able to easily get around them.
And then the voice asks her a question. With the way the woman is working on moving some puppies, looking at them rather than her Raven can only assume she'd heard the noise on the stairs and spoke up because- how the hell is she going to wrangle puppies? )
You want me to do what?
( All she'd wanted was a damn sandwich. She wasn't a puppy handler. They were too much )

Rick Motherfucking Sanchez | Rick and Morty
[So listen, interdimensional travel and all that is kind of Rick's bag, like his jam, man, but this whole "Wonderland" thing is just too bullshit. Wonderlands are, in his experience, always one of two things: cutesy creepy Disney crap, or edgy emo shit trying to be sexy. He has worked hard his whole damn career to keep from ending up on the Disney Channel, and despite his stint as a teenager and all evidence to the contrary, Rick Sanchez does NOT have an emo streak, thank you.]
[So with his portal gun suspiciously not working, the next best thing is clearly to start doing Science in the kitchen. Because that's where the Science goes. Also the cupboards seem to be constantly stocked with mediocre alcohol and he is ALL ABOUT THAT SHIT, SON. Science and Booze go together like bread and butter. Anyone who comes near the kitchen right now, I am so, so sorry.]
Don't fucking touch that, do you, do you have any idea what that shit does to organic matter? I-It'll melt your face off, just melt it right off, like we're talking that, that scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark, only a thousand times woUHHrse. Don't touch it, don't touch anything.

So why is it in the kitchen? And why are you drinking while you work with it? That seems like a really terrible idea.

Yes, I'm well aware of what it does. [ He raises an eyebrow at the man who is presumably responsible for the state of the kitchen, it's not like Ford was going to touch it, but he obligingly crosses his arms behind his back all the same as he turns his attention back to the counter. ]

Poison Ivy | DC Comics (NU 52)
It was almost guaranteed that you'd find Ms. Isley lingering there, urging the roses to speak to her as she brushed her finger along their petals. But hardly a whisper came. It confused her upon her arrival. At first she thought she may have lost her ability to speak to her babies, that Wonderland had cursed her. But it was not the case. For even the forest spoke in hushed tones, just softly enough where she could not make out their words. It pained her, really, to see them trapped just as much as she was. ]
Don't worry, my lovelies. Soon, you'll be free. Soon, we'll take over Wonderland and show them that nature always wins.
Teddy Altman | Marvel 616
Through conversations with the local prisoners, Teddy's managed to glean basic awareness of the mansion's layout. There's a bar, a kitchen, and -- apparently -- an Avengers-branded training facility. That's where he's headed today, going as the non-Hulking version of himself for the first time since arriving. Maybe he'll see a familiar face and be able to make himself useful in the escape plan that's most likely already in progress. Or, perhaps, there's something to this timewarp nexus that will help him find someone less likely. Maybe this is like a Valhalla or something, where dead heroes go. Could Cassie be there? He spared a fleeting thought to consider that his mother was a warrior. Maybe she could still be --
Distractions won't help. He slides through the oversized glass doors, casting the worry aside. This is about finding Avengers. It's about helping people. It's about getting home.]
no subject
He wasn't ready to face him, so he did what he does best, he ignored the problem and hoped he would have more time to sort it out before Teddy realized he was here too. Like most of his plans that one was bound to fail.
Billy's in the air shooting a lightening bolt at a practice dummy when he spots Teddy walking into the center. He shouldn't be surprised, of course this is the first place Teddy would come, they are Avengers afterall.]
