barry allen ⚡ the flash
[ so this can't be the weirdest thing that ever happened to him but it has to rank somewhere in the top 5, the other four including a very big meta-gorilla and a very real meta-shark, thank you very much. so hello, wonderland, meet barry allen who seemed to have sped into your world.
so while traveling across the multiverse is not even a matter of a maybe but rather the matter of a when, arriving here does still seem to confuse him. after all, last he'd seen, it was grodd that was sucked into a breach, not himself and he's seriously doubtful that this is what dr.wells meant when he talked of a home for grodd.
somehow, tea rooms don't really seem to scream, 'giant meta-gorilla' even if they seem to be creating cakes.
wait, do they actually do that?
have one young man who stares at those plates mattering a small, 'whoa' ]
[ the network]
so on the scale from 1 to weirdest, this absolutely ranks in the top 3.
is there any way to make my wardrobe stop producing tortillas?
no subject
Maybe it's picking up on a secret craving.
[ Hey it's a new person on the network that Simon doesn't recognize, but that's not likely to stop him from saying hello anyways. Besides. Tortillas. Now he's got a craving. ]
no subject
[ and also lunch. somewhere in the world, he can literally feel caitlin frowning at him ]
absolutely not 700, though. that's just it working on its own.
which, I don't suppose you know how it's doing it?
[ he'll be looking into it himself of course. it has an awesome potential. an inner voice that sounds suspiciously like cisco whispers, dude, 850 tacos, win! ]
no subject
[ He always gets a fiendish sort of glee when he gets to give that answer. Mostly because it frustrates about 90% of the people that show up here. ]
Sounds like you oughta host a taco party to me.
no subject
[ meantime, barry allen is absolutely sure you are joking because you know what, every each weird, unusuak, downright crazy thing he'd seen was usually backed up by science so this can't be any different right?
riiight?
anyway ]
hey, you're welcome to them. I'm a fan but even I can't down all of them and this room is starting to smell like black beans.
no subject
I'd suggest taking what you can't eat down to the kitchens or the dining room on the first floor. Someone'll finish 'em off I'm sure. Or hell, bring some by the Bar up on Five. I'll shove em off on unwary customers for you.
no subject
not that barry would be so enthusiastic to do entirely by himself but these are things are sent to try us etc etc ]
got it.
[ the ones to the first floors will be there in less than a blink of an eye. the bar, however. ]
they're pretty good. they seem like potentially good bar food, I think.
[ he won't even try to pretend to have enough of a life to know typical bar food. ]
no subject
Or end up on the Oregon Trail trying to get to Denny's. Some things defy any logical sense and then you get killed by a herd of angry buffalo. ]
That's what I thought. Drop 'em by whenever you like, I'm here all day.

oh, and here's hoping you know spanish.
no subject
that is...a definite no.
do you?
[ further proof that he really should have taken up a language in high school :( ]
no subject
but yeah i'm screwing with you. happens to everyone, like a newbie hazing ritual. welcome to wonderland?
no subject
thank you, I think?
[ so she may poke fun of him but she's funny and in all honesty, who doesn't poke fun at barry allen? ]
Barry Allen, ah, nice to meet you.
as far as meeting via text over the subject of weird Mexican food counts for a meeting.
[ barry, don't try to be smooth ]
no subject
and you're definitely trying to rope me into tortilla clean up.
[ where's cisco when you need him, huh barry allen? ]

mansion.
I hope you're not planning a party.
mansion.
it has to be a pretty woman, it's just the way barry allen's life go.
well, at least he didn't drop anything. yet. ]
--- not really.
[ a smile as he shuffles around. ]
I was just -
[ pointing at the cakes uselessly, come on, Natasha, this is pretty cool ]
is it some sort of voice sensor or - ?
no subject
You must really want cake.
[ It's.... not an answer. Just how she does, coming up to him looking over it curiously. ]
Did you ask it for these, specifically?
no subject
[ what.
gesturing towards them. seriously, it's their fault ]
not really? I walked in and they just started going at it.
[ ok he takes one but only because they keep coming ]
whatever makes this system tick must be broken.
no subject
[ the plates aren't much different. Don't ask Natasha how this thing even works: it's food, she won't get poisoned, it's good enough. She picks up a piece of cake as well and pops it in her mouth, chewing slowly. ]
Mm.
no subject
[ pretty brilliant, if barry might say so himself. of course, there's the old lesson of don't take candy from strangers even if what's being discussed is strange...plates ]
Barry Allen, hi.
[ this is pretty weird in the way that he feels like might have barged in to someone's house and ate their cakes. ]
you - live her?
no subject
[ She shrugs. ]
In a sense. So do you, since you've been brought here.

Makes you want to start singing Be Our Guest, doesn't it.
[ And here's hoping the new guys has seen Disney movies. ]
no subject
[ smiling because yeah, that does make a weird sort of sense, doesn't it? he's half expecting the furniture to talk to him any moment now. ]
the candlesticks seem absolutely non-sentient, though.
no subject
The candle sticks are, I'm still not entirely sure about the closets. I swear sometimes they purposefully play tricks on us.
