[She smiles, before turning her attention back to her cooking, giving it a smell- the perfect balance of butterscotch and cinnamon. Now all that's left to do is to let it bake, as she sets the pie in the oven- only, rather than turning it on, she simply waves a hand, and conjures magic flames beneath it.]
I am not alone either, after all. In fact, I am preparing this treat as a surprise for my child.
Their name is Chara, and they have... not had me around for a very long while. [And she hasn't had them around either, of course.] Do you know them?
no subject
[More or less. Chara has made it clear it's not the word they'd use, but to be fair, Chara wouldn't know friendship if it bit them. But they haven't killed Dipper, despite having many chances. If that's not friendship......... that's probably not friendship. But it's something.
Maybe he shouldn't talk about all the stabbing with Chara's mom. From what they've told him..... well, he's not sure how she'll take it, and he doesn't really want to get them in trouble for something they've been pretty good about not doing lately.]
They're in my Dungeons, Dungeons, and More Dungeons campaign.

I see! I am not sure what all the dungeons are about, but I am glad that they've been able to find other children to spend time with here.
...These dungeons aren't dangerous though, are they?
no subject
[Or Chara losing it and stabbing everyone. But that danger wouldn't hurt Chara anyway.]
We hang out with them and Frisk a lot. [Doing dangerous stuff that got Frisk killed. It's fine.]
no subject
I have not spent much time with this Frisk, but my experience with them was... unpleasant. They were... violent. Unlike any child I had ever seen before.
[It feels strange, to warn someone away from a child the way she'd normally tell them to stay away from Asgore, but... the same thing applies, doesn't it? They're a dangerous element, and she wouldn't want other children being hurt because it made her uncomfortable to say.]
no subject
I... they aren't like that now. Have you talked to them since you got here? They're really nice. Not at all violent.
no subject
Someone who would do something like what I saw them do... it is not something that they can simply wipe away, and act as if it never happened. Being nice at one moment does not mean that they were not cruel at another.
[She does not really want to say more than that. It's... too unpleasant to burden a child she barely knows with. She's given her warning. She can only hope that they listen- and if they don't, that nothing unfortunate happens.
Perhaps a change of subject is in order.]
Tell me- what do you prefer. Butterscotch or Cinnamon?
no subject
Uh, what? Butterscotch or cinnamon? I don't know, I guess I like them both. But... look. I know it doesn't erase the past, but people can change. And I know Frisk would [did] undo all the violence if they could. I know it doesn't make it better. But it's true.
no subject
[She... doesn't know what else to say to that. It makes her feel guilty that she cannot bring herself to forgive them, after such a glowing endorsement from this child, but. It does not change things.
There is no way that she can really explain her reasons. What it was like for her to die- not just dying, but. Being killed. What she had felt from Frisk in that moment that they attacked her. He would not understand what it meant, the nature of monsters. How deeply they are affected by the intentions of their attacker. How utterly Frisk's intentions had destroyed her.]
That is good to hear. I am making a butterscotch cinnamon pie! There will be a bit too much for two people to eat. You are welcome to have a slice of it, if you want.
no subject
[And because he doesn't know how to explain "they were lost and confused and trapped in a time loop and also possessed by your child who was feeling pretty murder-happy at the time" without throwing Chara under the bus. Or, you know, how to explain it at all. It doesn't make any sense unless you already know about SAVES etcetera, and besides, it's not really his secret to share.]
How are you switching between talking about murder and pie so quickly?
[He knows exactly how. Mabel does the same thing sometimes. Cover up the bad stuff, talk about something more pleasant. But he's much more tolerant when it's coming from his sister than from anyone else.]
no subject
[Really, she won't be too surprised if they don't heed her warnings. Just like she's not surprised that her attempts to distract from the subject aren't working. Trying to talk about snail facts never worked, either.]
I simply do not wish to burden you with unpleasant thoughts. Children your age should not have to worry about such things.
