+ SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER TDM +
It's Chinese for 'Japan.'

Prompt A: Serious Event
A memory is displayed. It's yours, the most traumatic of your life whether it was a terrifying clown encounter or the death of someone you love. It's on a loop for everyone to see. You can enter the memory and take your own place, but no matter how hard you try, you cannot alter the outcome. You're forced to try in vain to change what happened or watch until you decide it's too much and walk away. If you can.
Prompt B: Lighter Event
Welcome to Storybrooke.
You've lived in a quiet town in Maine for as long as you can remember. You are a fishmonger or a diner employee, perhaps you work at the hospital. Whatever you do and whoever you are, it's not the real you. You are cursed and you know no other life outside of Storybrooke.
When the curse breaks (either from True Love's Kiss or, in a more TDM friendly, handwaved way), you have two sets of memories: who you were, and who you are. Do you choose to accept all that you were cursed to believe, or would you rather slip back into your old life? The choice is yours.
Prompt C: ediS rorriM
Use this prompt to test out your mirrors. Are they loyal to the new White Queen or do they think she's too good to be true? Do they long to cross over or spend their days tormenting reals? Whatever the scenario, know that the Queen is watching, and let that guide you - or not.
Prompt D: Choices
Any scenario goes! Thread out your character's arrival, have them act like a long-established resident, let our past events inspire your scene, or write up literally any Wonderland-based scenario you feel like playing with.
Rules
Test drive memes go up every other month. Please note that any threads made as part of the test drive meme don't count towards your activity check, and they can't be used as samples for any future applications. Thank you for understanding, and have fun!

"Take up a hobby? Explore the creepy caves that you might die in? Swim into the ocean until you find the seamonster?" She kinda smirks as she says them. "Okay, kinda being a bitch, but I guess it's about figuring out what keeps you busy. Without being told like a boss would."

"I suppose I'd have time for music again... I used to be in a band. We were semi-successful. I can actually take some time for song writing and stuff." He hasn't really thought it about before now.
no subject
"What? No way they could show up here?"
Yeah, that's the best she's got.
"That is a great idea. They need some live music here and a good venue for it. You could totally think about it." That she will so back.
no subject
"I'll dig up a guitar from one of the closets. We might be able to rustle up some more musical talent."
no subject
She can't help but be curious. "I bet there's others here that either had garage bands or even up to a full musical career. Come on. We need our own entertainment, might as well make it."
no subject
They were a... couple with six people involved. Except not. "I met my number one fan recently. By accident. Tina... is an experience you don't forget in a hurry."
no subject
"Wait, so you had a big enough band to have fans? Or was she just into the whole cute waif thing?"
no subject
Todd scowls. Dirk calls him cute too and he doesn't take it from him either. "I'm not a waif. I'm a lot stronger than I look. And yeah, we were big enough for fans. I said semi-successful. We were sort of big in the Seattle grunge scene."
no subject
"Hey, no offense. It's a good thing. Plays well I bet with a band," she points out. "And that's cool. What was the band's name?"
no subject
"Mexican Funeral. I don't know why, we were really drunk." For most of the time they were performing, actually. "I think there was a joke about funerals being cheaper in Mexico."
no subject
She snorts at that. "You don't look like the emo scream type," she teases. "Which it would be a good name for."
no subject
"I wasn't. It was grunge, not emo. Not the same. You're probably too young to remember grunge, which is incredibly depressing."

That isn't good or bad. It just is.

He misses her. He's missed her for a long time before this place, so he's at least used to it.

She is amused by it though. "She has been my best friend since we were six. We have shared everything in life, and even when things changed, we still made our way back to being besties. And if we hadn't, we'd be dead now."
That makes her frown. "You guys have a falling out too?"
no subject
"Because of the psycho serial killer." She mentioned that, he had listened. "Yeah, we did. My fault, rather not talk about it. Tell me about it?"
no subject
"Prom massacre," she says, speaking about it casual. "We went outside to talk, to try and make up and while we were inside, he locked the gym and lit things on fire." Yep, just casual talk. Not talking about him and his sister. "They found out after that Jordan had hung himself during the dance. He shot the killer though, found him in the rafters where he set the fire. Jordan just hadn't realized what he had already done."
no subject
Especially when she drops shit like that.
"That... is insane. Like, genuinely, holy shit, I didn't know that sort of thing even happened outside horror movies." That is genuinely horrifying. "So... you go outside to make up wiht your bestie, a nutcase killer locks the doors and starts a fire with him inside, your boyfriend then shoots the killer without realising about the fire and then hanged himself?"
That makes even less sense than the average adventure with Dirk. He smells a rat.
no subject
She nods, sighing softly. "A few of us made it, though apparently he found one of our teachers outside first. She was really sweet," she says, folding her arms over her chest to hug herself. "She had done some things to help me too. With scholarships and stuff. And they say that's what happened with Jordan, though I guess, I mean, how can we ever really know the details?"
Hey, some parts of her story are totally true, especially about a serial killer already being in their town. Well, three of them technically.
