[It's a beautiful spring day in the gardens. The sun shines. The flowers are blooming. A soft whisper of a breeze provides a modest cooling embrace, just enough to take the edge off the radiant, eager sun. The setting couldn't possibly be more idyllic.

Except, I guess, for the... dinosaur-person? In the flower garden? She's crouched over a flowerbed, as if she's just enjoying the subtle perfume of the young blooms. But... nope. She's yanking an entire flower out of the ground and cramming the whole thing into her mouth.]

Hm... yuck. Damage stamina, I bet.

[She muses, softly, to herself.

Then she plucks a caterpillar off a shrub and slurps that down, too.]

[B - Breaking (the ice) and entering]

[Are you in the hallways? Are you heading back to your room? Well, don't look now, but there's someone crouched in front of your door, a half-dozen snapped lockpicks littering the ground by her feet. A seventh is jammed into the lock with a crude shiv, and she's hard at work Definitely Not Committing Any Crimes or Anything. This door was definitely unlocked when she got there. Yep. For sure.

Speak up? Wait and see if she can crack the lock? Offer your room key? Point her towards the room of someone you don't like? The possibilities here are truly endless.]

[Angus is just coming back from the library, a pile of books stretching up higher than his face, completely blocking his view of anything in front of him. But when he reaches his door, and he's sure it's his door, he counted the floors and doors on his way, but there sure are a lot of... broken lockpicks piled up on the floor by his feet. More than that, there's someone fussing with his door, as far as he can hear, and, still holding the books before his face, he fishes out his wand from his pockets and points it past the books at whoever it is that's trying to break into his room.]

I don't know who you are, but I must warn you, I have a, a great mastery of wizardly magicks and spells! And you've been caught red-handed! Please step away from the door!

[This might be more threatening if he wasn't obviously blocking his own view of the would-be thief with this huge pile of books, and his voice didn't still have the high squeak of a ten-year-old, and his wand didn't have a huge cutesy star at the end of it.]

i. ARRIVAL

[Well, wouldn't you know it -- today has brought Angus McDonald, the world's greatest detective, a fresh new mystery! It may have interrupted the previous one he was working on, figuring out what the Bureau of Balance is hiding, but Angus has long since realized that adapting to new, unforseen situations is an essential part of being a detective.

Here are the facts as he knows them: this place is called Wonderland. Which was a name that's already been taken, but okay, not everyone can be extremely creative. He understands. There are Mirror people "beyond the looking glass". The technology here is, at times, more advanced than he's ever experienced, even moreso than that of the Bureau. And, most curiously, there is talk of "events" that are vaguely defined but equally unpredictable.

He didn't really have to be a great detective to find that out, that was all in the pamphlets in entrance hall of the mansion.

Now, he's focusing on trying to really dig into the true mysteries of Wonderland, like what brought him here, why, and how to get back. So he's decided to interview random people who pass near the entrance hall and garden.]

Excuse me sir or madam or otherwise! I am Angus McDonald, world's greatest detective! I have a few questions for you!

[It's up to you to believe whether this ten-year-old is the world's greatest anything. He looks kind of dweeby.]

ii. DINING ROOM

[Even though Angus is the world's greatest detective, he is also entirely a ten-year-old. So when he learns that the dining room will grant you any foodstuff you desire, he immediately took to experimenting with it.

Which is what he would say, if asked, but really what he's been doing is summoning all kinds of cakes, creampuffs, ice creams, souffles, and cookies to satisfy a child's sweet tooth. Except now he's eaten far too much dessert, and he is starting to feel sick.

He groans, holding his stomach, and presses his face into the table. Then he remembers it's impolite to rest your head on the dinner table, so he hovers his upper half just above the table instead. Please help this boy.]

iii. MAGIC STUDY

[Not one to be lax in his studies, Angus has taken to practicing dutifully on his own three times a week in the magic study. He practices his cantrips with his wand, producing flame in his hand, prestidigitating tiny firework displays, and picking up small things like pens and parchment with his Mage Hand. He then spends several hours poring over spellbooks that look like they're compatible with his world's magic and trying new, harmless spells that won't disrupt anything.

When he hears someone come in, he yelps, startled, and on reflex he casts Magic Missile, sending three glowing darts straight towards the door!]

Ah-- Watch out!!

[The unfortunate thing about magic missile is that it's considered an automatic hit, and so while Ray flinches to the side as the warning registers, they still find their mark. Thankfully those things are weak af, because as a thirteen-year-old who...is closest to a cleric, I guess? Rachel doesn't have a lot of HP to spare.

Also thankfully, Zack isn't around to murder (another) child.]

Ah! [Ow??? But she doesn't believe it was intentional, since he shouted and all. She splays her fingers across her chest where the spell had impacted, regaining her breath.] What -- what were you expecting?

[ The screen shows a non-descript man, possibly in his forties, with brown hair, a magnificent mustache, and a stern expression. He stares angrily at the comm. It's easy to tell when he sees the blinking light that indicates the comm is recording - his eyes widen almost imperceptibly, his features darken, and then he lunges toward the device.

The screen next shows a blur as Ron repeatedly hits it against the side of the desk as he tries to break it. ]



Around Wonderland

He doesn't belong here. He knows he doesn't belong here. He belongs back in Pawnee, and this is not Pawnee. The only adequate reason to leave Pawnee is for above-average steak. And that's a problem, because by all appearances, this is Eagleton, and Eagleton doesn't have above-average steak.

This place is fancy. He doesn't like fancy. All people need are four walls and a roof. Even modern plumbing is an unnecessary luxury. So this mansion? He hates it. He doesn't know how he got to Eagleton, but buildings like this are why he tries to avoid it at all costs.

But he isn't going to get back home if he just stays were he is.

He heads out into the hallways and around the grounds, looking for the road that will take him home. No way is he calling someone for help and admitting he got lost in (cringe) Eagleton.

[ it's a relatively normal day in wonderland. the sun is shining, there's no event going, and the dining room is fairly empty. it's a good time for a snack. or time to do some reading. relaxing of whatever kind one might do in the dining room.

until a dagger comes zooming out of seemingly nowhere and thuds into the dining table, followed shortly by a bamf! and a half-elf in (somewhat stinky) leather armor appears on the table, hand wrapped around the dagger's handle. ]

So, hey, I hear people have been trying to get out of this place and learn about where it is practically since there were people here. Even to get to the Mirrorside or something like that?

[Hadrian is having a nice, relaxing day. He's discovered an interesting fruit since he's been in Wonderland: they're called "apples", and they have so many variations, you never know what kind of taste one will bring. Right now, he's at the dining table, eating from a magically-generated bowl of Honeycrisps, reading a book from the library titled Returning the Sun to Its People, ostensibly something just academic enough to retain his interest without going over his own head. A University man, he is not -- though he is learned in his own way, and Samothes is a God of knowledge.

And, of course, he is fully engrossed in his book when several things occur. When Hadrian sees the dagger, his hand instantly goes to the golden sword at his side -- and he instantly rises to his feet and draws the sword when the kind of smelly half-elf follows it.

And then he just... greets him. Hadrian narrows his eyes, but just. Sighs. Why are people constantly like this.]

A lot better before you decided to nearly get yourself maimed. You know I'm armed?

[But it's pointless to complain at this point; the deed is done and no one was hurt. Hadrian takes a sulky bite of apple.]

Padmé Amidala | Star Wars

[Choice A - Yukata Check Every Room]

[A vacation of sorts has always been prescribed for the overworked senator, but Padmé is the headstrong type. Work is her life and she's never been a fan of "downtime". However, Wonderland has made it obvious that she cannot continue full tilt or it will kill her. Perhaps even literally.

And she's not ready to die.

As it is, she's now in this lovely little inn with its hotsprings along with the a vast group of others. Her hands are tucked into the sleeves of the yukata that had been provided after she'd had a bath and her long hair is twisted into a loose but sensible plait down her back. It's an interesting place and she has no trouble walking through the calm halls. The walls open up every few feet into a set of sliding doors that opened and closed with whispers.

But above some of those doors are little slips of paper that appear to have been glued to the walls with intricate calligraphy on them.]

I've heard the rumors that ghosts inhabit this place, but am I supposed to believe that those slips of paper will keep them at bay?

[Not that she believes in ghosts, the Force notwithstanding.]

[Choice B - What Never Could Have Been]

[Life has always been complicated for Padmé. From the second she took the throne of her planet to that very moment, she's been faced with hard decision one after the other. After serving her people through the invasion of the Trade Federation, she'd been given the position of Queen for Life by the people of Naboo. Turning it down more than once hadn't stopped them and she could only serve her people to the best of her abilities.

This place, however, is nowhere close to her palace in Thedes or her parents' house or even the summer palace on the lake where she spent a week every year to "relax". Nor is it any place she's familiar with outside of Naboo either. While she's panicking on the inside because she doesn't know where she is or where here even is, her face is calm as she approaches the first person she comes across.]

Excuse me. Have you seen Senator Palpatine or Representative Binks? I really must speak with them right away.

[Considering the desert-like heat coming through all the windows and doors of the mansion, Thomas has foregone a shirt. His pale skin is nearly luminescent in the light and doesn't look like he could tan or burn even if he tried. It's a striking contrast with his long, dark hair and bright, blue-silver eyes.

His favorite Desert Eagle is tucked into the band of his jeans in the back, safety on, and makes for an odd sight with his ethereal looks.]

So, can we expect some Jawa to pop up or do I have to go find the Hutts myself today?

Around the Mansion

[Her heels click softly against the hard floor of the mansion halls. Justine reaches out towards he walls, brushing thin fingers against the golden filigree laid into the molding. Curious.

Her head turns when a familiar voice fills her ears and she sets off down the hall towards it's source. Thomas?

Justine is dressed in white. The hem of her skirt brushing against her knees with each step. Silky black hair falls pleasantly over her shoulders accenting the delicate curve of her neck. She pauses when she catches sight of the familiar man, her dark eyes dancing over his skin before meeting his gaze.]

I think you'll have to find them. You know how difficult the Hutts like to make things.

Kuzunoha Raidou | Devil Summoner | OTA

[Raidou was now becoming more accustomed to Western-style buildings. The Capital was building more and more of those, thanks to the influence of that Western world. It shouldn't have mattered what world he was in though, there had to be demons. And Raidou was out to find them since he didn't have any of his own with him.

It was alarming, to say the least, as his kuda were completely empty now. He had twelve demons with him and all of a sudden, they had disappeared. Perhaps being here was his opportunity to find new ones. This was an entirely new world as Raidou had guessed. But alternate worlds, he was used to that too, which is why that alarm or surprise he had initially had also disappeared. To the same place as those demons, that was a possibility.

Thus he was inside the Mansion, investigating all the rooms available such as the kitchen, music room, ballroom, anywhere he could get to. He'd jot down all of notes in his notebook since Gouto wasn't here to assist with that.]

[Naoki was in the dining room when Raidou came to investigate that space. Crouched on one of the chairs instead of seated on it, Naoki had a plate of strawberry cake in front of him. Coming to the dining room had several benefits, not the least of which was the ease with which he could ignore most of the food groups when he didn't have to be reminded of them.

He looked up when Raidou entered and tilted his head, then raised his fork in a pseudo-wave. He didn't recognize Raidou, but he should make himself at home.]

[Caleb isn't one to shy away from adventure, and this also isn't the first time he's awoken in a strange place... Just the first time it was a place quite this fancy! Sure, he's bedded a fancy lady or two in his day, but this - This is fancier than one might typically find in colonial New England.

He's not one for gawking, usually, but he's definitely taking a moment to look around - Not only to admire the furnishings but also to search discreetly for a clue as to where the hell he is. The sound of footsteps behind him cause him to turn around, hand reaching for the knife he usually has concealed at his side.]

Steady, now -- [ a crisp (british) accent gives light warning. she's a fair few paces behind him, but she can see how he goes for a knife. or, well, she can't be certain it's a knife. but there's no telltale pooching for a gun's holster, and she rather hopes it's a knife and not some little pistol.

A network full of people? An audience that was listening in? Risette loved that stuff. Kujikawa Rise could deal with this even if she were thrust into some place that looked like something out of a movie set.

Someone could hear her message and respond in kind. It was more interactive that most of her performances at home where she just sang for her fans or for the audience. But that was an idea. She'd have to somehow get people more engaged somehow so her show would mean more to them. She could talk to her agency about that, switching things up.

The life of an idol. So much to take care of. Magazine photoshoots and modeling, promotions, interviews on TV or the radio, parties and afterparties. Things were never easy, were they?]

So we're stuck here? I don't see how much of a big deal it is. A girl could use a break now and then.

[Rise smiled brightly for the camera on the communicator that she placed on the piano. She was sitting at that piano in the Music Room, fingers gliding over the white keys.]

That doesn't mean I don't want to go home though. Someone's gotta go back and get some work done. I guess that just means I have to wait it out for now?

[It could happen anywhere- in the hallways, or out in the gardens- a young man walks by you, yellow cape billowing dramatically behind him, while completely ignoring you. If you happen to greet this stranger, then he reacts as if he doesn't seem to have even heard it.]

[But once his back is turned, he stops, and turns to face you again.]

This feeling... I can feel it in my blood! It's like it's burning up inside...!

[Something about this whole thing really feels like a kid playing pretend. Which... wouldn't be wrong, really.]

it's calming and it focuses her and right now, sara's pretty sure she can use all the calm and focus she can find. despite her half-lidded gaze, despite not looking toward the entrance to the roof at all, she's aware of what goes on around her, of anyone approaching or standing to watch her. ]

It took her about a week to discover the palm pilot this spooky place gifted her with -- a device that had just been released in her world, and she could never afford -- brought with it a treasure trove of emojis, youtube videos, and a full season of The Bachelorette.

Oh, and if anyone asks, her favorite snapchat filter is the flower halo. Duh.

And finally, it took her a month to open her very own nightclub. Apparently, there already was one, but this gal has needs that not even the devil himself can meet. Themed parties, disco nights, and even karaoke: MJ's got you covered. She's the hostest with the mostest, and if you ever come by, she'll greet you with a killer smile and every intention that you have fun. Wonderland is way too depressing for her tastes.

The thing is- Thanks to the impossibilities and magics of Wonderland, Peter recognized Mary Jane when she arrived. During the Event when people were getting insight into other worlds, alternate universes, he saw a redhead in it who looks like her. He hadn't been certain they were the same person at first (likely, maybe not the same version of the same person because she's older than the one he saw), but then she said his name, and he knew. In some universes, in some versions of his life, she's in it, which complicates everything further.

Not in a bad way.

Just in a what-the-hell-do-i-do way? What's the right thing to do and how much should he say if anything especially when he hasn't met her yet in his own universe yet. Alternate universes are so weird and complicated, and Peter's not good at the average, normal social situation. He does feel a strong sense of attachment to her after watching a version of her steal a truck to try to save him and cry over him (and also they kissed), and-

It means he wouldn't ordinarily show up at a nightclub, but he's here anyway to like see how she's doing and stuff which she's doing fine obviously. She has this handled. He watches she hands the person on the other side of the bar a drink. And. He waves from his spot.

Yep, got this social interaction thing down.

Glenn Rhee | The Walking Dead

(i) {Arrival}

Glenn arrived a little after midnight in the mansion. One moment he was on a supply run in an abandoned superstore, the next he was in a dark, unfamiliar hallway. He reaches for his flashlight first, switching it on. Then Glenn pulls out his knife from the sheath strapped to his thigh, keeping it poised and ready as he moves silently down the hall. He listens carefully for any signs of walkers, or people. Maybe he wasn't the only one from the group here.

Until he got a better idea of where the hell he was, Glenn refrains from calling out. God knows who or what was lurking around the corner. His gun was in a holster on his other leg, close to hand. Glenn would only use the firearm as a last resort, knowing that a shot would only attract attention - likely from walkers. While he was pretty adept at killing them, the hallway wasn't the best place to get stuck in.

He turns a corner which leads to another dark hallway, much like the first one except for a dim light at the end of it. A sign of life, maybe? Glenn slowly makes his way towards the light and remains on high alert, fully aware that danger could come out of nowhere and without warning.

Anyway. Hi. I'm Glenn. I've been here a few days now and it's... uh...an experience.

[He's reaching out, hoping that someone from home was in this weird mansion. Glenn is reluctant to disclose his location because he doesn't know whom to trust.]



(iii) {Kitchen}

Glenn was so used to rationing food that he couldn't remember the last time he had a proper meal. The farm, maybe. Things had been okay there for the most part. Alexandria was another possibility, but supplies were dwindling. Which is why they made the deal with Hilltop. Maggie had brokered the deal (god, how he missed her) and they had got enough supplies to last a short while.

Anyone who comes into the kitchen will see Glenn at the table, tucking into a cheeseburger. There are some fries on the side and a chocolate milkshake. Very unhealthy, but also delicious. He decided to wait a few weeks before indulging himself in something so decadent. Glenn knew that his stomach wouldn't have been able to cope with this much salt and additives; he didn't want to risk being sick.

Every now and again Glenn would take a sip from his milkshake, dip a few fries into ketchup and then resume eating the rest of the burger. He's a little distracted right now so someone would need to be loud enough to grab his attention.

[The Taishou wishes so dearly that he could say he's seen stranger things. Maybe he's just abnormally put off by the architecture, or the situation itself, but he can't say he's ever experienced anything quite like this.

Maybe it's the whole 'being alive' thing. Perhaps he simply can't wrap his head around that, when as far as he knew, he had been the only wielder of a sword with life-giving properties.

Perhaps not as surprising as he would expect, but neither sword had accompanied him on this journey. He's alright with it--those swords had a place.

For the moment, he busies himself with admiring the interior of the mansion. It's surely much more complex than any castle he may have seen at home. Even his former wife's home was not this lavish. One clawed hand settles against a marble pillar, gliding smoothly along the surface.]

Why should he listen to this supposed Queen, the mirror wonders. She has given him no reason except allegedly "creating" him, and even that he doesn't buy. He's a greater demon, he has no reason to believe or accept her "rule."

So he breaks the rules, because he can, and stubbornly crosses into the Real world. It's probably jarring for his other self, but this Taishou is jealous, stubborn, and he has the power to back up his actions.

He's just going to perform a test, then go back. No harm done. The questions he wants answered are simple enough:

Can he passably emulate his other self?

And does he want to?

Either way, if he crosses anyone's path, the cunning look on his face melts away semi-convincingly, and he offers them a polite greeting along with an inclination of his head.

"Good afternoon," he says, the words slipping past his lips like so many lies, wrapped up and made to look pretty and tolerable. These people aren't worth his time.

and so gamora paces the place where beach-sand meets land. she's not here for the view. instead, she stalks toward a palm tree and -- stiff-fisted -- works a deeply embedded throwing knife free from the tree's trunk. the bark shows numerous scores; she's been at this for some time. ten steps and the woman turns before throwing the slim blade yet again. who knows what'll get to her first -- the boredom or the hippies?

later, as twilight sets in, she strides her solitary way back to the mansion. her path takes her through the gardens. curiousity makes her pause by the fountain where she leans her bare palms against the ledge -- letting her crane forward and watch the fishes as they swim. poor unfortunate souls; no more or less free than the rest of them. ]

[There wasn't ever even the remotest chance that Ling wouldn't be found here sooner than later. Even if he weren't genuinely hungry,
he has a standard of behavior to maintain; in the unlikely event that someone from home is here, he has be exactly as Ling as he ever is.]

[It's kind of a stroke of luck, how easily he finds it, but then again he can be a lucky guy sometimes. Or maybe food just calls to him. Either way,
a broad grin spreads across his face as he gets a good look at the unguarded splendor of a good kitchen. Nice. Nice nice nice.]

[He grabs himself some cold chicken and a bun, stuffs them both in his face, and chews furiously as he continues to rummage through the fridges and pantries. After some time, and a lot more eating, he comes to the important conclusion that he should get a box or a basket or something and shove as much food as he can find into it to take to his room. Not that he minds eating in the kitchen, but he doesn't want to have to walk the whole way down here every time.]

[His surprise when he returns with an empty sack slung over his shoulder is both extremely obvious and pretty hilarious. He stands at the doorway and stares blankly into the kitchen, whose interior has entirely changed in the time it took to go upstairs and come back.]

[The outdoors of this place is at the same time very interesting and freaking Ling out in a serious way. Not that it shows, not that he's going to let it get in the way of his exploring--but really. It's like someone's done a really bad job trying to make things make sense and then gave up halfway through.]

[It's the vendors that finally get him to the point that he shows his discomfort a little bit--a very little bit. He's still grinning, hands on his hips more like a scolding older brother who's rapidly losing patience with some nonsense than someone actually disconcerted.]

What kind of salesman doesn't speak? Not even a hello. [He waves a hand with what he hopes to pass off as irritation.] You can't get much repeat business.

iii. groundhog day

[At least he's adaptable. That's what he keeps thinking: at least I'm adaptable, and it's better me than someone else. After these last few days his positive attitude has been tested a little too much, though. I mean honestly. First the running out of oxygen, and now these--blips.]

[At some point, in the middle of what appears to be nothing very much--could be walking through the grounds, could be dozing in the music room, could be training, even--he lets out a gusty sigh apropos of nothing and stares up at the ceiling.]

I've already done this afternoon. I refuse to do it again. I'm conscientiously objecting.

[This place is so much like Ego's planet that Mantis flounders uncomfortably between feeling at home and completely out of sorts, so it's no small wonder that she ends up wandering toward one of the places that look, sound, and feel nothing like her old home: the vendor's stalls. Where Ego's planet had been quiet and still, this place brims with life. (At least, in a way that Mantis is not used to; then again, for her, two or three people is a crowd.)

She's so enamored of it that she forgets to watch where she's going, bumping into a vendor's wares and knocking them to the ground with a tremendous crash and clatter.

She is mortified and immediately apologetic, crouching to help pick up things:] I am so sorry-- I was not-- Oh, this mess-- [It seems that she can't quite finish a sentence without the next apology falling from her lips. She scoops up an armload of something she doesn't even recognize and immediately turns to put it somewhere that isn't the ground--

--and promptly runs into whoever might be coming to help. Or maybe just walking by. So all that stuff she just picked up? It's crashing to the ground again, all over your feet this time.]

A- The Beach

[ She's been there about a week, long enough to get oriented with this place, and to figure out that the other residents are in fact correct- a way out isn't going to be simple. But not impossible. Its just going to take more thought and time. Time. She never thought about time until she met Steve, and now time just keeps smacking her in the face. There is never enough.

She will figure a way out, of that she has hope.

For now though, she's sitting on the beach. It might not be the beautiful beaches of home, of Themyscira, with its beautiful white sand and pristine clear turquoise waters. Still, it makes her feel closer to her mother and her aunt, both of whom she misses dearly.

She will turn if she hears someone approach, ready to offer a friendly smile. There are so many people here, people she wants to get to know- to learn from. ]

Its beautiful, isn't it? The water hitting the sand. It reminds me of home.

B- The Training Facility

[ This...is unlike anything she had ever seen. And she had seen what she thought was a lot- at least until she got here. She walks around, examining the equipment, testing it here and there. Its reinforced and it takes a lot for her to knock the punching bag off its chain.

Back home she was trained in open fields, but here everything is closed in and metal. Still, the weapons rack on the back wall is impressive, and she hasn't even walked into a simulation room yet.]

I mean, I know other worldly things exist, but going the full Hogwarts experience isn't something I ever thought I'd get to see. [ Liv isn't exactly looking to tell anyone she's a brain eating zombie because she figures it might not go over well. Call it a hunch based on a clue from the real world. As long as the magic closets are giving her what she needs, she isn't sure what the difference is anyway. She stays fed and non-zombie hangry and makes a few friends along the way. Still, she'd feel better if Peyton showed up. Or Ravi. Or Major. Or Clive.

Ducking her head into random rooms, still on pageant brain, she's doing all of this with a book balanced on her head for perfect posture. One could only benefit from a straight spine, dead or alive. But when she turns a corner and blindly collides with someone the book falls with a thud to the floor. ]
